How to unlock the Two is Better Than One achievement in LOST PLANET 2 - Definitive Guide

The best (although boring) way to unlock this achievement is to play 6-1 on Easy with a friend.

Doing it this way you will average 2 areas completed per 2ish minutes. Doing the math that's 55+ areas an hour when you factor in loading times.

What to do:
6-1-1: Straight forward, just make sure you finish with 1500+ T-Eng, use the datapost if you need it.

6-1-2: Once it begins take out your T-Eng and start charging. Jump to your right and fly all the way across. Just before going around a corner to the left is a gap, inside is a box with a VS in it. Get in. Now just push in LS + A and boost your way to the finish avoiding the remaining VS's.

A couple of tips on the strat: use soundless and invisible as your abilities and the npcs are slower to react to you passing them on 6-1-2. Also, about the fastest I could do this was about 2 mins and 30 secs for the whole chapter (6-1-1 and 6-1-2) with creating (w main)/joining (w dummy), loading screens, and skipping cut scenes.

This achievement is called "Two is Better Than One" and is unlocked by completing 386 areas with at least one other human player. The entire campaign consists of 42 areas so this achievement will take just over 9 playthroughs to unlock. If you're grinding for levels/boxes/Noms or GJ's with a friend this will unlock eventually.

I honestly don't know, I haven't played any split screen. I checked the x360a forums but couldn't find anyone who could confirm whether or not it unlocks. My assumption would be that you could do it that way but it would be a long wait to be disappointed if it didn't unlock. If it works for you could you confirm so I can update the guide.

Having just unlocked this achievement, I'm fairly positive that split-screen does not count towards this achievement...

Having cleared 774 areas in total over the course of my Lost Planet 2 career, I approximated at around 300 being online with other players. This 300 was made up of approx. 100 areas through random play throughs, with another 200 definite areas having repeatedly played C2 E1 (4 areas) over and over again along with some level boosting on C5 E2 with a friend in the past few days.

I then started playing split-screen having already played the full 42 in order to get the 'Band of Brothers' nom, I went on to play a further 32 more areas in split-screen leaving me at 74 areas. After the split-screen started to get boring I switched back to playing online and again playing C2 E1, I racked up 15 more areas before the achievement finally popped.

Leaving my count at 315 online + 74 split-screen with a combined total of 389. Now this looks like it could be argued both ways with split-screen counting and not counting, but I'm fairly confident that it doesn't as I was very strict with my approximation for the online chapters before I had the additional 200 definites from boosting C2 E1 in the past few days.

Removing my definite areas, it leaves you with approximately 100/500 chapters being played online, as I was strict with my count, the 100 could have been much higher resulting in the unlock seeming like split-screen actually counts...

In my opinion, split-screen does not count but if anyone feels it could from my info then feel free to play through it, but I don't think you'll get anything from it...

Alright. Lately I've been playing split screen and online 50/50 , so I guess I'll notice when it unlocks.

No sorry. I still don't know if split screen counts. The official guide says nothing about it and I haven't found any help on various forums.

Can anyone confirm if this works with split-screen? I don't want to waste a couple of hours and not have it unlock.

Same as “Me Against the World”, but this time you have to do the areas with human players, not without. Once again just have Connection Type set to PlayStation Network, and either join a game or invite a friend – just do the areas with at least one other human player. A good place to farm this trophy is 2-1. Once you've memorised it, with 2 people you can complete it in as little as 5 minutes, and with 4 areas it is the most area-abundant chapter in the game.

NOTE: Whatever you do, DO NOT do 6-4 for areas, as the whole chapter counts as only one area, not 5 or 6 as you might think. An area only counts if you receive the Area Complete screen at the end of the area.

Every chapter is made up of several (usually 3-4) areas. For these just play co-op campaign with at least one other person. Play through hard and extreme with a friend. After that, just boost 5-2 and 5-3 with a friend. You will most likely need to do this for points and credits anyway.

Each chapter consists of several (usually 3-4) areas. To achieve this achievement you need to complete the game with a friend 4-5 times.
