How to unlock the Token of Appreciation achievement in Lost Words: Beyond the Page - Definitive Guide

After rebuilding the world with your fireflies, you have one last diary sequence then the credits. They are playable like a diary sequence, with you collecting asterisks. Just play til the end of them for the achievement.

Annoyingly you can't just watch or interact (collect the asterisks (?)) from the main menu -- I tried this twice (once collecting them and secondly not) but it didn't unlock which is annoying! 😣

You do not need to watch the credits, I beat the game and tried to pause (pressing start) and the credits stopped but the achievement still popped.

Same as what MrIcyDeath said. I collected 1 blue asterisk and accidently pressed select and it gave me the achievement.

I have not finished the game and got the achievement from the main menu. Pressed “select” to end early and it popped.

I missed an asterisk because it was hard to get to and pressed Start out of frustration, and it popped.

I watched all the credits and got all the asterisks and it popped for me at the end. I also had all the fireflies.

You don't have to go through the credits at all to get the achievement, just press start or menu button and you'll get the achievement.

You absolutely do NOT need to play to the end of the credits. I hit cn_start immediately upon reaching the credits thinking I could just replay the Epilogue if I didn't get the achievement, but I still got it.

Thanks! That game was an absolute slog, despite one or two ok moments it was a nightmare to push through it. You saved me a couple of minutes of my life.

After completing E8, there will then be an epilogue section to go through, after which the credits will roll, and you can play during them. As the description implies, you need to play to the end of the credits to unlock this achievement. However, there is a workaround that is far quicker: once the credits start, grab the first blue asterisk that scrolls up, then press either button-menu.png or button-page.png to skip the credits and quit to the main menu. This will also unlock this achievement.
