1. This can be done on easy.

2. Do not use ships with pre-loaded gems.

3. You can pick up as many gems as you want as long as you DO NOT load them into any of the modules (turrets, shield, special, engine, or any I missed).

4. Love Hard ,)

Gems must be take out of the packages.
If you equip one by mistake just die and let the level restart

To all: preloaded ships arent unlocked until later so u gotta use the first 3 ships fyi

Also if you accidentally picked up a gem, dont go close to a station and try to drop it as your character will fling it into the station instead, voiding the achievement.

Can I do this on the same save slot after my 1st playthrough or do I have to start fresh from a new save slot?

Yeah I wonder if difficulty plays anything into this myself.

I went through with our son on normal until the very last fight with Ursa Major, we could not beat it on normal so I turned it down a couple of difficulties to beginner even because it was just really hard it seemed. After we beat it, we got no , which really sucked. We spent probably a half hour trying to beat it on normal before turning it down.

I mean are you not even supposed to touch the boxes with the gems? We picked up the boxes and put the gems in the center of the ship so you wouldn't accidentally use one. Ursa Major sucked on normal with 0 upgrades.

Is it possible to come back with a better ship? As the gentleman pointed out above you cannot use a ship that has pre-built gems. But are there other ships that are stronger?

This sounds harder then it is. All you have to do is never use any gems but remember not to pick up any gems as you can by accident use them. I recommend not opening the presents in your ship as a precaution.

You should do this on Campaign 1 as it's the easiest.

You must complete a campaign from beginning to boss battle without putting any gems at any station. You cannot use the ships that come with pre-installed gems or it will not count.
