How to unlock the Pharaoh of the Two Lands achievement in Luxor 2 - Definitive Guide
"x8Xero1sFinestx" has covered the most important things. i'd like to add the following method:
- you need a total of 280 million points
- use a wired (!) TURBOCONTROLLER
- gamemode: pharao's challenge
- stage: balance of maat (available after you have beaten stage 23 in adventure mode!)
- rubberband the "A" button and enjoy!
the points are accumulative. it's no problem if you miss some spheres and mess up. the TURBO function starts a new game and the whole procedure repeats over and over again on its own. this way i got 4 million points in 40 minutes until my TURBO missed some spheres.
HINT: leave your xbox overnight! you can check your progress on the main menu. use "x8Xero1sFinestx" list to keep track of it.
280 million are nearly 50 hours of boosting points this way so be prepared for a very long ride!
EDIT: i worked out the method on "balance of maat" on my own! here some visual help:

I hate the achievements in this game: It's a bad sign when you are excited that something can be done in less than 50 hours!
I may have to invest in a turcocontroller and try your method out. Thank you for saving my sanity!

most people (if not all) should know that playing the pharaoh's challenge is the best way to get points and if not, well now you know. instead of shooting out coloured balls you get to shoot out the golden daggers that can take out any ball with one hit. i suggest picking a map with a long straight of way such as village of the nile, carving the obelisk, and valley of the queens that way if caught in a problem spot you can just spray down the straight of way to save time. make sure to use the needle slowly for the first so many levels and try to get combos with 3 of the same color instead of just shooting them all out so that you get more points... yes it is only like 100 or so more points but do ten combos and there is an extra 1000 points for taking some time to connect 3 of the same color. try to aim instead of constantly spraying because if you get 100% accuracy you get 100,000 points for bonus compared to 19,000+ points for upwards of 90% accuracy. much faster than just doing the adventure mode over and over, but it will still take forever to do... good luck to everyone.

Certainly good advice. However, if you're looking to 100% the game, you might as well save this achievement for last. You have to complete adventure mode in easy, normal, and expert anyway to get three of the other achievements, and that will get you a nice bundle of points, so you might as well get those three first, and then get whatever points you still need after that using theman0893's strategy.

If you're not into using a turbo controller (I'm not - but I'm not judging people that *are* ;) , my solution may be of interest... though it requires a bit of preparation.
I did my Expert & Challenge of Horus runs back-to-back, finishing with 26 spare lives. When you "finish" the adventure mode, you are offered the option of "cashing in" your extra lives for 50,000 points apiece, or moving onto the next difficulty level; when you finish Horus, however, you have no choice.
This meant that I got a 1.3 million point score bump at the end of the game.
Of course, I'd been diligently step-saving (and backing up my saves) through the entire game, so I had a save that was one ball before the end of the game. I kept that save safe on a memory stick and repeatedly copied it onto the hard-drive, played the level, and got my 1.3 million-ish points again. Rinse, repeat...
I managed to get my last 50 million points in 3 (yes, three) hours.
In theory, it should be possible to do this much quicker. I estimate that if you started playing at Easy, followed on to Normal without cashing out, then worked through Expert and Horus (again, without cashing out), you could finish with over 40 spare lives - that's 2 million points per iteration.
!!! IMPORTANT!!!
There are some gotchas with this technique.
1. Firstly - and most importantly - when you complete the adventure, it will automatically DELETE your save file... so make sure you take a backup before you finish the game and keep it safe! NEVER let the game load the save file off your backup! ALWAYS copy it onto your hard-drive, and point Luxor at that.
2. I had some problems getting the game to recognise the "completion" bonuses consistently when I just [ completed the adventure / jumped to dash / copied file / booted game ] repeatedly... but the following *did* work consistently for me:
a. "Complete" the game - like I said before, I was using a save that had be perfectly positioned for the last ball.
b. Jab "A" a couple of times 'til you're back on the main Menu screen.
c. Duck into Pharoah's Challenge (I used good ol' Balance of Maat) and play one level (you should be able to grab 200k easy); once you click through the stats screen at the end of the level, it will save your stats. Skeptical Mario also reports that playing another level in Adventure also works.
d. Save & quit from Pharoah's Challenge, return to the main Menu again, then select "Return to Arcade".
e. Copy your save file back onto your hard drive from your USB stick.
f. Fire up Luxor again, and repeat.
That above routine was taking me around 5-8 minutes per iteration, with each iteration netting me about 1.5 million points. Like I said, I got the last 50 million points I needed (I'd done a *lot* of Maat-bashing previously) inside 3 hours!
Yes, you need to have committed to 100% this game to maximise the usefulness of this method, and you're going to be annoyed if you lose your save file... But I hope this technique helps someone :)

I've used all the solutions above, so thanks to invuln3r4bl3,
theman0893 and x8Xero1sFinestx.
There are 3 things I would like to complete from those solutions:
1 - When using Horipad (turbo controller), you will make aprox. 3 million each time on Balance of Maat. After that, even horipad can't make it through. Just let it be, it will start again and get another 3 million. Over and over again.
2 - So, when you loose the match, it will start again cause the Turbo is on. You need to know that the points will stack. That mean that you will need 280 games of 1 million, for exemple. Or 140 games making 2 million points. And so it goes. Don't get worried if your turbo controller miss one ball. It will star again and count your points.
3 - Points? Yes, you can know if its working or not, just on the MENU screen, you can press A and will see your stats. Just use the x8Xero1sFinestx solution above to keep tracking.

If you're going to grind this legit, Pharaoh's Challenge accuracy bonus is definitely the way to go. If you complete a level in Pharaoh's Challenge without missing, you'll get an 100,000 point bonus. If you aren't going for this bonus every level when grinding for this, you're wasting your time. I found map 23, Balance of Ma'at to be the best map, for the following reasons:
- Balls move very slowly on this map, so it's hard to miss, and making chains becomes very easy, which can be worth some nice points. This also sometimes leads to getting the "Net" powerup, which is obviously useful.
- The path is long, so you'll often clear lines of scarabs early on, resulting in many gems as a bonus.
- There are two paths, so you get double the amount of gems at the end of each level.
- At the end of each path is a vertical section, which happen to conveniently be right next to each other. Once you get to the harder levels, you can position your winged scarab between the two paths and your daggers will hit either path. Or if you get bored while grinding you can just position your winged scarab in the middle and spam while you watch TV or something.
Remember, you can use and to move your winged scarab very quickly, which can be very helpful for collecting gems. It takes a bit of practice to get the timing right, but you'll get there if you keep practicing.
Also, if you're going for this completion, save this achievement for last. You'll earn around 60M-80M points earning the rest of the achievements, and you'll be able to perfect your accuracy skills. I was earning around 5M - 7M points per hour grinding Balance of Ma'at Pharaoh's Challenge. This achievement requires 280M points total. That's should be around 30-40 hours of Pharaoh's Challenge grinding. Good luck. This one will take a while.
