How to unlock the Maximus achievement in M.A.C.E. Space Shooter - Definitive Guide

After speaking with the developer, you will need to do the following.

Upgrade all 8 weapons to maximum
Rocket power up to maximum
Companion to maximum

He said it’s quite a hard achievement to unlock. So good luck. If you don’t already know, use your bumper buttons to weapons select so you can see how your progress is going.

Thanks, did he say how 600k pts ach is possible? I beat the game and only had around 350k points and I was killing the majority of the enemies and overall doing well.

I’ve emailed Thomas to ask. My guess is; the points earned are related to difficulty. The harder the game, the more points you get. The only logic way to get it. I also had around 350k points after completing the game on easy.

I was playing on easy and havent earned the 100 thousand points finish stage 1 or kill 1000 enemies achievements so its either bugged or you cant earn them on easy anyway.

I had the same issue as Karnage. You need to allow permissions for some reason. I missed out on Stage 1 complete achievement because of that.

Can this be done on easy?

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "use your number buttons"... There are no number buttons on Xbox controllers. I assume you mean LB and RB?

Yes. I meant bumper. Stupid phone with it’s auto correct. I’ll adjust it now. Sorry for the confusion. I’m uncertain about the difficulty, but as long as you collect all relevant power ups and don’t die, you should be able to get this, as when you die, you lose a power up. Which means you have to recollect it. He did say it would be hard to me, sonmy guess is that a no death run would suffice if you pick up everything and no duplicates.

Just to confirm this achievement isn't as difficult as it sounds. Just keep playing the game naturally, and when you lose all your lives, pick level select and start from the mission you last played. (You need to reselect from the main menu) doing this will give you all 5 lives back. I got the achievement by World 3 level 3.

Strange. I had less than half of the power ups when I completed the game. I’ll have another try.

This is quite easy to achieve, just don’t pick-up power ups which you already have maxed out

After I completed the game, I went back to level 13 and replayed to about 15/16 and I was able to collect the extra things I needed.

If I go to level 12 (which is 2-6), then it seems to give me all the equipment I had when I started level 7 (which is 2-1). Same seems to be true of level 13-18. When I complete the game (lev 18), I can just re-start level 13 and I'll have all upgrades I collected to the end of the game minus the companion and rocket. Let me know if that isn't clear and I'll try explain it better.

This achievement also pops as soon as you max out everything. It isn't a separate stage like the name implies.

I'm unable to see all of the HUD around the screen and can just about see some of my score and lives. Its prob a tv thing but is there a way to fix it?

Anyone have any idea what's up with the tracking for 7,500 enemies? it'll track randomly and then stop tracking and so on.

(and it wasn't the sign in/permissions issue as I earned another achievement and it had obviously been tracking before and hopefully after)

Also fun discovery: if you get to the end of a stage with an enemy still alive above you, and it auto-flies to the top/end of the stage you'll die for running into the enemy facepalm

@iMaginaryy
Tracker only count kills at the same difficult! I started with hard and did 3k kills, then I changed to easy and tracker worked again after reaching 3k kills on that difficult...wink

This can certainly be done on easy, I'm sure I messed up somewhere. Just finished the game on easy and missed this by one upgrade..... of course at first I thought when killing a boss or miniboss you got all the upgrades. Learned the hard way on that so was my own fault.

@TheMarkOfPower I had the same issue initially but what happened was the game didnt show me as signed in. On menu screen, if it doesnt say your gamertag with your gamerpic at the top then no achs will work. When I closed the game and reopened it, I had a new screen pop up that asked if I accept some terms / permission for xbox live services or something (this usually happens with Xbox Play Anywhere games even though I don't believe this one is). Hopefully this fixes the issue because it sounds like the same problem I had. I can vouch that the achievements work fine on easy difficulty.

You can obtain this one in any difficulty.
Play normal and try to get all upgrades.
If you finish the game with any upgrade missing, just reload on level 13 and you will carry your upgrades.
You will have 6 levels to pick the upgrades you are missing.
