How to unlock the Looked Everywhere achievement in Mad Max - Definitive Guide

To mark all scavenging locations you will need to build the survey crew in each of the four strongholds. To find the survey crew parts walk up to the outline of the project in each stronghold and it will give a prompt to mark the locations for how to get the parts. From there retrieve the parts and build the survey crews in each stronghold. You will now have all scavenging areas marked on your map for the territory you built the survey crew in. Please note that there are scavenging location in the dunes (buzzard territory) and these will be marked upon completing the survey crew project for the Friah/Gastown stronghold. This will also help with finding all the historic pieces as well.

"To find the survey crew parts walk up to the outline of the project in each stronghold and it will give a prompt to mark the locations for how to get the parts."

Really good information, this one. I have always wondered how come some parts are marked in some locations and others are not. Thank you!

This is known to be glitched, and a way to check if it for you is with this formula:

(191 - X) + Y = 227

X = 'Reaper of the Harvest' total from the Challenges section
Y = 'Scavenger Locations Completed' from stats menu

The result should equal 227 as this is the total number of scavenger locations. If it doesn't (e.g. result is 226) then it's miscounted and you won't complete the challenge

Far left of Chum's tutorial/starting region is a scavenging location, at the point where the road loops, it won't appear until you're almost on top of it. It didn't appear because there're no scavenging crews for that region.

Ive read a bunch of forums and still need help! I have 227 under scavenging locations completed, and 191/191 for the Reaper of the Harvest challenge, yet the Cheevo did not pop. Does anyone have any ideas? I haven't seen any posts who have the same issue as me.. Appreciate it!

One more to be unable to achieve this cheevo. Same as many others ,a container does not open at a scavenger location in wailing winds. Tried reinstalling the game, using several different ways but nothing worked. Very disapointing.

God bless Bob Garcia (the guy who recorded the solution on YouTube) for finding a way to get the bugged collectible. I wasted about 8 hours to repeat the glitch but it finally worked for me too. I wouldn't spend another playtrough (60-80 hours) to get the 100%. So thanks the author and Anthony238 to share the link.

I've unfortunately encountered a bug with one of the scavenging locations.

In Wailing Wind I have one piece of scrap that is in a green container. There are 3 crosses on the doors of this container that requires the player to use the harpoon to open it up, but when I aim the harpoon at the doors nothing happens. Because of this, I can't complete two achievements.

I'm unsure what is the cause of this, or if there is a fix but if anyone is missing a piece of scrap, I'm willing to bet it is in there.

You can unlock this Achievement by looting all of the Scavenging Locations. Sadly, it is still glitched to this day.
I just unlocked this one by accident today. What I think I did was while I was running, I tried to pick up the gas can and another glitch occurred where Max assumes the gas can is empty when it isn't. He usually kicks it and says "empty" but he glitched through the wall instead.

If you can figure out exactly how this works, you have my permission to make another video with instructions but be sure to give me credit.

Almost all are easily accessible and appear on the map once the survey crew project is built in that region. There are three that require story progression to unlock. Two in The Dust area and one in Gastown. The one in Gastown is first unlocked during a side mission for Deep Friah and is completed during a story mission.

Unlocking the survey crew in the relevant strongholds will show most scavenge locations on the map, and tell you what is there (relics, scrap, project parts etc).

There are 191 locations. If you're at 190 and nothing is showing elsewhere, you may be missing a location in the start area near Chumbucket's place. It's on the far left of the area under a trapdoor that needs the harpoon to open, and it doesn't show on the map unless you're almost on top of it.

There are a total of 227 scavenging locations across the entire map that need to be looted to unlock this achievement. Scavenging locations are indicated on your map by yellow diamonds. You'll get a large amount of them marked on your map automatically as you drive near them while doing story missions and wasteland missions, as well as various other tasks. In order to get all scavenging locations displayed on your map, you'll need to complete the Survey Crew project at each of the four strongholds. Completing that project in a stronghold will mark all scavenging locations in that territory.

Two things to note about this.

  1. The Dunes region off to the east is marked with all scavenging locations when you complete the Survey Crew project in Deep Friah's stronghold.
  2. The starting region in the south (Chum's territory) has no way to mark scavenging locations. There is one scavenging location on the western end of this territory that will only show up on your map if you drive near it. Be sure not to overlook it.

To loot a scavenging location, as stated in the achievement description, you're required to complete all optional objectives viewed by pressing and holding while in the location. When done, you'll get the "Location 100%" looted" message on screen to indicate you're done with that location. This typically consists of finding all scrap, and then sometimes a history relic, a project part, and/or a scrap pallet. Scavenging locations are usually very small, making them easy to find everything in them. The Dunes region is the main problematic area, as many of the scavenging locations are underground and in the dark. Just be thorough and check all walls and rooms and you should have no problems completing all locations.

BEST GUIDE for this trophy.

There are 220 Scavenging Locations in all map but you only need 191 of them to unlock the Reaper Of the Harvest Challenge in order to complete Looked Everywhere Trophy/Achievement.

GLITCHED

Due to the myriad of glitches associated with Scrap containers, this trophy can be very glitchy so save often and make lots of backups.

This will more than likely be the last trophy you unlock and one of the most time consuming. There are a total of 227 Scavenging locations found during free-roam in the Wasteland, as well as during Story missions and Wasteland missions. These locations almost always contain Scrap and usually a History Relic as well, while a much smaller number also include Project parts. Whenever you are in a location where scrap or other collectible items can be found, be sure to use to ensure that you have collected everything.

Fillis's hint about the unavailability of loot at the airport after the mission "For Glory" is not correct. Returned after finishing the whole story:
You can return to the airport by driving along the same path through the basements. Having left for the large hall (dutyfry), you need to go towards the place of gain. There will be a fork next to this place and you need to turn right and go into the basement (where there was a fight with the half-boss and where we took the locals’ car). At the dead end there is a passage to all three dig sites (and the scrap). and if you follow one of the trails, you can come out to a large pile of sand, by climbing it you can get inside the airport, there, having climbed a whole bunch of stairs, you can climb up, where there are 3 more crowbars

You don’t have to worry too much about searching for anything and everything. As you clear out camps and loot points, look first for scout parts. When you collect everything, build them in a fortress and on the territory controlled by the fortress they will show all the points of gain.

If anyone has a problem finding one loot, it is hidden under an additional task with a purple icon in Gastown, look to the left. As you get closer, you will immediately see the place of gain that you are missing.

First, you need to find the scout project, collect this project in the fortress and all the places of gain will appear on the map.

I collected everything, I saw such bugs on version 1.05
- sometimes the 100% sign disappears and does not appear when the loot is completely collected.
- also, along with this, the counter of strikes and their types may also disappear.
Red-Eyes had both of these bugs, once the Gluttongue.
During the entire collection period I never died, and in the end everything was counted correctly.

Addition to jozik's tip. After you climb all the ladders, turn immediately to the right. There will be toilets there. This is where you will find three ill-fated pieces of scrap.

Places of loot in the Tinsmith territory are not reflected when completing the Scouts in Fortresses project. Therefore, if you can’t find something, don’t blame the “glitches” in the game, look there. I found the last place there myself

Provided that we build the “Scouts” project in each camp, almost no questions arise regarding the trophy. Access to any of them does not disappear during the game, despite any plot features in locations, etc. It’s just that somewhere it becomes more difficult to find the entry point to a location with one of these places again. The only question is about the Tinman's starting territory. He is its owner and he has no projects in the “camp”. Those. On its territory you will have to look for places of gain yourself. Completed on the version of the game with the latest update. No problems found.

The problem with uncounted places of gain in the statistics also remains. Standard recommendations:
  • saved in different slots
  • do not die immediately after picking up the last object in the place of gain (strange, but there is no such problem with minefields)
  • gather scouts and count on the map how many places of loot are left
  • do not interfere with the passage of missions and targeted collection of scrap

The mechanics are such that immediately after picking up a scrap, information about its absence on the map is immediately recorded in the save, and in the statistics with some delay.

They gave the trophy when it was 190/191. 191 never appeared on the map.

I read a lot of American forums, and this is what:
-Delete the game (save the data to USB or network storage!!!!!!!!!!!)
-Install
- Go here

- The loot icon should light up on the map.
- Take the scrap already in an empty container.
If it doesn’t work, look for a map of all the loot places and roll back all the empty containers - that’s all.

During the mission “For Glory” (mission 14 or 15, I don’t remember exactly), you can very easily miss the crowbar, thus losing this trophy, the “tested hero”, and the “platinum”, of course. The point is: the moment you find yourself in a large hall and you have a choice of where to go from three places - DO NOT EXPLORE the holes, just collect the crowbar from each of the holes, only after that you can explore them. Otherwise, after exploring the second hole, a collapse will occur and access to the third will be blocked, you will not be able to pick up 2 pieces of scrap metal (and you will not be able to return there) and, if you have one rewritable save, you will have to start the game over again if you want to get platinum in it.
Immediately look for a scrap (by the time you reach the large hall with forks, you should have 6 pieces of scrap, each hole has exactly 2 pieces of scrap).
