This achievement is very straightforward and it should be unlocked just naturally when you progress the game, but it glitched for me.
To avoid the glitch you should enter the Water Hole area and do all corresponding tasks for penguins, Marty, Melwin and Alex. Than you will finally reach the totem allowing change the character, and only then you should play for Gloria and enter the Water Caverns.
Do not enter Water Caverns prior to monkey collecting enabled. You will have to start the whole game again.
