here's a collectables guide that i found i take no credit for it but i found it helpful for my last couple of monkeys it also tells you where to find coins aswell

In most of the levels you need to find monkeys ,you will need to use each of the characters to locate each one. Some are on top of trees some are underwater etc. Each level with monkeys shows how many to collect in the PAUSE menu > PROGRESS collect them all for the achievement.

For the majority of the monkeys you have to revisit previous levels. Some are in mini games, for example in order to get aLL 5 in VOLCANO RAVE you must purchase the 3 extra songs in the DUTY FREE SHOP. Play the songs on easy and hit all the monkey notes/patterns to collect the monkeys. MELMANS CLINIC has 2 monkeys to collect also
