Have to Be This Tall to Ride

Have to Be This Tall to Ride

Stiff arm or juke Bob Sanders. 5 min qtrs, All Pro (no Pro Bowl, no co-op)

40

How to unlock the Have to Be This Tall to Ride achievement in Madden NFL 10 - Definitive Guide

1. Go to NFL Rosters --> Player Management --> Colts --> SS
2. Click A on B. Sanders and lower his tackling to 12 (the lowest)
3. Start a game with the Colts on a 2nd controller and the Cardinals on the first controller, make sure both are set to ALL-Pro with 5 minute quarters.
4. Press Start on the 2nd controller and go to Coaching Options --> Depth chart --> PR and replace T. Rushing with Sanders.
5. Pick a pass play with your first controller and Punt block with your second controller.
6. Press Y on your first controller and hit B, then up on the LS to set your receiver to run a streak route.
7. Pass to your B receiver. Sanders will be the only man you have to beat, just run at him and press the A button to stiff arm him when he tries to tackle you (or you can juke with the RS, but I liked stiff arm better.)

EDIT: The achievement will pop after the play. Thanks to Dominator Dale for the reminder!

Just to clarify; the achievement will unlock after the play is over, so don't panic if you don't get it right away.

Here is what you should do for this.

First go to CPU settings... turn everything down to ZERO on the sliders.

Make sure you are set to play ALL PRO!!!

Now select the colts to play against and YOU play as the steelers!

HAVE TO BE THIS TALL TO RIDE
sanders lines up on the right side of you so select willie parker and then run HB STRETCH plays over and over so you run to sanders... now I think juking is the best way to go so just hit the RIGHT STICK to the right or left when you see him come at you... his number is 21!

**** BONUS****

You can obtain 3 more achievements in this same game.

LASER ARM ---

Simply select defensive plays that allow CB's to cover the feild... a.k.a. 3 blue circle plays.

You will get these INT'S pretty easy however if you do not or you want to make sure you do just do this... every time you get the ball back just PUNT it away the first down... now manning has the ball again and he MUST throw at least one down. I got 9 INT'S doing it this way.

FROZEN TUNDRA ACHIEVEMENT
Select to play at packers stadium on before the game starts, set it to 8pm and set it for snow, or light snow... NOT HEAVY snow.

Also you can obtain SUPER BOWL MVP-LIKE

what I did was allow the colts to score a safty... they get two points this way and then make sure to get the ball back with 1:30 left in 4th quarter... run on them for a first down and get clock to :35 or so... now select...Hines ward and find the PA DIVE PLAY... allow him to go down field and toss it to him... he should catch it and be able to score easily... try to allow about 40 yards to work with if you try this long bomb. You can also try the TIGHT SEAMS PLAY with HOLMES, but remember that HINES has the better stats.

GOOD LUCK, I GOT ALL 4 OF THESE USING THIS STRAT IN THE SAME GAME :)

Does the Bob Sanders achievement pop after the game or after the play?

Hmmm I honestly don't remember when it popped.
I seem to remember some popping after the game was completed.

Thanks, popped right after the play. I actually got it with the stiff arm (A button) after trying several times with the juke but whatever. I also setup my defensive coverage so Sanders would be covering the guy getting the ball but it didn't seem to make too much difference.

This achievement pissed me off trying to get. I juked Sanders various times and never got the achievement. I finally got the achievement after I juked him and scored a touchdown on the same run.

Select any team you want (preferably one with a powerful running back...Vikings or Giants would be the best choices) and make your opponent the Colts. Call a running play to the outside and to the right. As you approach the line, keep pushing to stiff arm. Where #21 on defense is, run towards him. If you don't stiff arm Sanders on the first try, keep trying it until you do. This will unlock once you do it.

Bob Sanders is the Strong Safety for the Indianapolis Colts. He wears number #21. This achievement is fairly easy to get, and it is one of two player specific Achievements where you have to play as the Offense in order to get it. Once again, we will be using 2 Controllers.

Set up a game in „Play Now“. Let Controller 1 choose the New England Patriots, and Controller 2 choose the Indianapolis Colts. Before you do anything, let Controller 2 pause the game, go to "Coaching Options" > "Depth Chart", hold down the and flick the UP or DOWN to get to "Defense". Then scroll to "PR" (Punt Returner) holding down your and scrolling down with the and replace T.J. Rushing with Bob Sanders.

In game, let Controller 1 choose a play „By Player“ > „WR“ > „Randy Moss“ > Moss’ route will be highlighted in red, make sure he is on the right side and choose any play. Now, let Controller 2 pick the play "By Formation" > "Special Teams" > "FG Block Return".

Since Sanders is designated Punt Returner, he will be the only player in the backfield. Make sure Controller 2 does not control Sanders and snap the ball, pressing . If you’ve done everything right, Randy Moss will be wide open for a pass. Press as soon as you’ve snapped to throw the ball to him.

Keep on running and as soon as Bob Sanders comes your way, press to stiff arm, or LEFT or RIGHT on the to do a juke move. I deliberately used Randy Moss, because he is a very athletic receiver, so you should have no problems juking or stiff-arming Bob Sanders.
Just to be on the safe side, I would advise you to do a juke, though.
