How to unlock the YACtastic achievement in Madden NFL 11 - Definitive Guide

YAC = Yards After Catch. For this achievement you must total 100 yards after a catch (reception).

Like most of the other achievements, this is a particularly easy one. Here's one very easy way to get it:

Play an exhibition game with difficulty set to Rookie. Select the Texans (you) vs the Rams (cpu). When on offense, use the manual play selection menu and select a play for Andre Johnson on every down. I used the Cross Slant almost everytime and completed the pass almost every time. Make a simple juke move after the catch and you should be able to run the length of the field.

You should qualify for the YACTastic cheevie in just a handful of downs. Then you can keep running the same play for the Winning Isn't Everything achievement. Because Rookie difficulty is so easy you may need to purposely run out of bounds to avoid getting a TD on every catch (and therefore not getting enough plays in to reach 21 catches).

Achievement(s) will pop up at end of the game. You must complete the game to get it. Using this method you should be able to get a couple achievements in one game; YACtastic, Winning isn't everything, and Deadly Accurate.

I understand your guide but what is the actual requirement for the achievement for those of us not so inclined with football terminology?

No prob. I've read guides where the author made an assumption on what the reader already knew and it has bothered me as well.

Did this twice and the achievement didn't unlock. None of them did.

This is a super easy achievement. Before starting the game go to your settings and make all your sliders 100 and the CPUs sliders 0. ( this will help with other cheevos too ). Then for whatever team you're going to use ( i used the steelers but i doubt it matters ), click on the starting rb and put his speed, acceleration, awareness, agility, catching and all those running moves to 99 ( juke, stiff arm etc ). Then start up the game and use any play where the rb does a route to the flats ( pretty much a straight line across the screen to either the left or right side ) as soon as he catches it just run up the field and usually there is only one guy to beat. if you time it right you can just spin around him and get a lot of yards. i did this in 2 plays.

if you need any help or can't figure it out, feel free to message me on TA or xbox.

YAC means Yards After Catch. So to get this trophy, you must have a player on your team catch any number of passes and have them gain yards after they make a catch.

Start up a quick play game on Rookie difficulty. I used the Detroit Lions so I could use Calvin Johnson (wide receiver). He makes this trophy almost too easy. But you can use any team that you like. Just make sure you throw to the same receiver enough to get him over 100 YAC. You can check your progress in the in-game stats.

The trophy will pop at the end of the game!

YAC stands for 'Yards After Catch'. This means the distance a player travels after they catch a pass. Use the same setup as outlined for Did I Break It?. In fact, you should probably try to do the two at the same time. Throw a shorter pass to give your receiver room to run. This will cut down on the amount of runs you have to make.

Important: This one has to be done using a single receiver. So recycle the same play every time to make sure you are finding the right man.

This trophy will unlock at the end of the game.

Trophies that can be done at the same time:
Deadly Accurate, Winning Isn’t Everything, Perfect Game, Defensive Dominance & Did I Break It?

YAC is Yards After Catch. The easiest way is to use two controllers. If the opposing team has the ball, punt it back to you. Set the defense in “Field Goal Block” and have your receivers run a straight route every time. Throw to the same receiver until he has over 100 yards after the catch.

Or, if you have one controller, throw to the same receiver a few times until he has over 100 yards after the catch (it’s best to throw him short passes and have him run downfield).

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.
