I simmed most of my 1st season while going for the Emmitt Smith Trophy untill bwallstreet13357 gave me some tips that helped in the Legacy Score Thread , which also helped with earning tons of XP & that's what it'll take to get this trophy. Be sure to do as many practices as possible. If you play every single practice avalible you can earn the max of 24,000 XP each season. Over the corse of your career thats a lot of XP. Also I was averaging 2,500-4,000 XP per game. But in order to do that you'll have to play each & every game & not sim at all. You'll also want to break every individual/season/career records & goals to gain massive amounts of XP.

Also the game will grade you on other abilities that you can't purchase. But some upgraded abilities will influence the speed at which they increase. You'll have to play around with the upgrades to see which ones. Just reload your save if you don't like the outcome , but the increase will be at a slow rate. They are also based on your perfomance in the game (this is my opinion). It grades you on...

Physical Grade
Intangible Grade
Durability Grade
Size Grade
Production Grade

Be sure to turn off the Firing Of The Coach option. If your coach loses his job then your Overall Rating will DECREASE when a new coach is hired. Also be sure to keep a winning record & always win the Super Bowl. After going on a long win streak & you happen to lose the Super Bowl your coach will want to retire in the Off Season. Make a save before each Super Bowl & then sim the Off Season. If your coach retires then reload your last save & play the Super Bowl all over again & sim the Off Season again until you get the outcome you want. Thus keeping your Overall Rating increased.

What do I upgrade to get my intangible rating up. I did it a different way and this is the only rating below a 97...other than production.

You can start off with a 90 rated Power Back for the Cardinals, Seahawks, Rams and Falcons, as well.

No practice for me either. I played every division and post-season game and simed the rest, Got it done with the Cardinals, Falcons and Seahawks after 10 seasons. The big hits on legacy score are picking up the game, season and career records (career rush TDs was about 3000 points).

I have 637 Rushing TDs and Emmitt only had 164 and my Legacy Score hasn't even hit 3000 yet so I think that's incorrect

if you adjusted your sliders at all, your legacy will barely move

Oh ok. That's a big help. Thank you!

Does the game force you to retire after a certain amount of seasons?

If adjusting sliders makes your legacy score go slow... Wouldnt it be better not to? Plus, why do you say to do all practices, but yet you didnt do any? Just trying to get an idea before i jump into connected careers but their seems to be a few contradictions.

if you adjust sliders it will make legacy basically nonexistant, so no dont do it, if you do you might as well just be playing for fun

You should probably say that in the solution then... Instead of sliders adjusted like it does now.

Now it says that... It didn't. But I'm sure you know more than i do about it. Adjusted was changed to what is in caps now. Good try being a jackass though.

***This is the only Connected Career I suggest you do not sim any games except playoff games, because you NEED to earn XP by playing games to help build your running back to be 99 overall for Peak Performance***.

Start a new Connected Career as a Power Running Back High Draft Pick for the Arizona Cardinals or New York Jets. You can join any team you wish, but Cards and Jets are easier and you start off at 90 overall.

Before starting your new Connected Career league, change difficulty to All-Madden (can leave it on Pro). Set all User sliders to 100, CPU sliders to 0, and all Penalties to 0. Leave rest of the settings at default.

This will take between 3-6 seasons to unlock. I suggest to play every game as you can also play for Peak Performance, then it will take just 3.5 seasons. Make sure in the first five seasons to win the MVP award and Super Bowl each year. After 5 years, you no longer get legacy points for them. Though, every year you still get legacy points for reaching season milestones in 2000 yard rushing and 25 rushing touchdowns. Trophy unlocks when you surpass Emmitt Smith's legacy score of 13,300.

Each Season do the following:
  • Sim all Preseason games.
  • Play enough games to earn at least 2,000-3,000 yards rushing
  • Play enough games to earn at least 50-60 rushing touchdowns.
  • Play enough games to earn at least 1,000-1,500 yards receiving.
  • Play enough games to earn at least 15-25 receiving touchdowns.
  • Reach the playoffs
  • First 5 seasons win the Superbowl and the MVP.
  • Simulate the offseason
Breaking the all time Running back records for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns do yield a few legacy points, and are helpful points. They key is to find a running play you are comfortable with and run that play over and over. Same goes with a passing play for your back. After each play that is successful, quickly double tap to run the hurry up offense to run the same play again as using the hurry up offense gives you more possessions. Beware even on All-Madden with sliders in your favor, you will need to read the play and make the right choice when running the ball and catching the ball for a successful play.
