How to unlock the Peak Performance achievement in Madden NFL 13 - Definitive Guide

After being stuck at 98 on my running back for awhile, I decided to go for this with my Prototype MLB. I got in in the beginning of 2020.

Started on the Bears as an 80 Overall, 6'4 247lbs, Prototype MLB. I played enough games each year to get 175 tackles which gives you a nice milestone each year, as well as the mvp, superbowls, etc from other guides.

I can confirm that these grades here make your 99 Rating Scheme -
Physical Grade - 100 - Str, Agi, Spd, Acc, Hit power
Intangible Grade - 99 Tackle, awareness, block shedding, pursuit
Durability Grade - 100 Stamina
Size Grade - 99 Start your LB at 6'4, 247 lbs
Production Grade - 97 Get good stats every season, takes awhile to build up.

Your rating is all based on the scheme of the team you are on. Check under strategy > schemes to see which type your team is. I ended up getting a boost from 98 to 99 by moving from 3-4 tackler team to a run stopper team in my last season. These schemes will switch when a coach has retired so keep a heads up on that.

Please check out my video below for all stats

====================================================
Other possible way to do it... Although I was stuck at 98 Overall for over a season and decided to try a different way.

I simmed most of my 1st season while going for the Emmitt Smith Trophy untill bwallstreet13357 gave me some tips that helped in the Legacy Score Thread , which also helped with earning tons of XP & that's what it'll take to get this trophy. Be sure to do as many practices as possible. If you play every single practice avalible you can earn the max of 24,000 XP each season. Over the corse of your career thats a lot of XP. Also I was averaging 2,500-4,000 XP per game. But in order to do that you'll have to play each & every game & not sim at all. You'll also want to break every individual/season/career records & goals to gain massive amounts of XP.

Also the game will grade you on other abilities that you can't purchase. But some upgraded abilities will influence the speed at which they increase. You'll have to play around with the upgrades to see which ones. Just reload your save if you don't like the outcome , but the increase will be at a slow rate. They are also based on your perfomance in the game (this is my opinion). It grades you on...

Physical Grade
Intangible Grade
Durability Grade
Size Grade
Production Grade

Be sure to turn off the Firing Of The Coach option. If your coach loses his job then your Overall Rating will DECREASE when a new coach is hired. Also be sure to keep a winning record & always win the Super Bowl. After going on a long win streak & you happen to lose the Super Bowl your coach will want to retire in the Off Season. Make a save before each Super Bowl & then sim the Off Season. If your coach retires then reload your last save & play the Super Bowl all over again & sim the Off Season again until you get the outcome you want. Thus keeping your Overall Rating increased.

im playing on pro at the moment, didnt adjust anything besides coach retiring. Starting at a 90 is a huge advantage over the other way. I am a 92 after finishing the first season and only put points into development stats

rating drops even after winning the superbowl based off of the production grade.during the off season should come back up around week 2-3 of regular season

also raising weight to 265 and staying 6'4 with this team will start your overall at a 91!!! size and starting team are big roles in overall rating to start out with I have found as the size grade appears to be a big component of overall rating at least to begin with

Really. can you explain more of waht you did...did you purcahse any traits or just skills, did you save the XP til the end or did u spend it when you got it.

Normally my awareness drops 2 points every year and speed, accel and agil drop 1.

champ it depends on your team, your coach needs to have a 5 star prototype backer, if he retired he doesnt want the same things out of you, thus removing stats for important/unimportant things to him

Is there a team out there that will give a 99 or 100 rating for SIZE for a speed HB? Right now I am on the Lions and cannot get my rating over a 97 in the SIZE category. HELP!!

By J4CKA1 on 12 Nov 2012 00:02
like i said, size is based on height and weight, and nothing else
0
0
By Markyshizzle on 12 Nov 2012 07:08
yes yes i know. i have jacked around with both as a Lion and the highest i can get is 97. does scheme importance matter at all because the lions won't get my size to `100. is there any confirmed team that will give a speed back 99 or 100? or are you saying that i have to be a power back for that
0
0
By J4CKA1 on 12 Nov 2012 10:05
its based souly on size and weight for your position, speed back are normally lighter, mess with height/weight

...why are u being a speed back when u can start as a 90 power back and add speed to him?
0
0
By Markyshizzle on 14 Nov 2012 07:59
Bc speed is way more expensive and speed backs can get more yards quicker. After two seasons I only need 3500 more yards until I break that record and already have broken the td record.
0
0
By J4CKA1 on 16 Nov 2012 02:14
it takes less points to raise your speed than it does to raise all of those other stats to 90, but good luck anyhow

By L3G3N R3TURN on 27 May 2013 02:43
you cant... you have to start with size 99... my video says that
0
0
By Markyshizzle on 27 May 2013 16:37
You can modify the size to get the correct highest score. I made a Power Back with 6'4" and 245 but was rated at 98, and that was holding me back (since the other key attribute categories were all at 99).

If you modify the size of the player it does update, though I had to play a game and advance the week before it popped after being at 99 overall.

By essechoplex on 05 Dec 2013 08:48
Also I did no practices at all. I found that I could earn close to 5000xp per regular game and most practices that earned a decent amount of xp (around 1000) made you play 2 quarters anyway so playing full games was quicker.

I just unlocked this achievement using my MLB. I played every game in my first 3 seasons including playoffs and simmed my 4th after I got 175 tackles. Spent XP as I got it like how the guide said to and I had no problems. I switched to the Jaguars in the offseason of 2015(after 4th Super Bowl) from the Bears and it bumped me 2 points to get 99. Follow Markyshizzle's example and you will get this with no problems.

So you got this in the 5th week of the 7th season doing it this way? Also, what sliders were adjusted? Tackling? Run Blocking? This is the last achievement I need and I'm wondering if I should start a new career and try it your way or continue my career. My guy is a 97 but I only have about 100K XP and I've noticed from simming ahead and not saving that his overall will drop next season due to his physical ability degrading from his age.

Thanks so much for the explanation of the 5 composite ratings that make up your Overall Rating. I was only investing in what my team liked (scheme), which worked great until 97, then stopped. I didn't realize Physical was what was keeping me back. Got it today. For anyone else dumb enough to try this with a quarterback, Strength, Agility, Speed, and Acceleration did not affect my PHYsical rating at all - only Throw Power did.

Just got this so I thought I would share my stats with everybody. Used a HB (7'0", 250 LBS) and started out on the Jets until the coach retired and then signed on with the Falcons. Played on All Madden with sliders adjusted in my favour, unlocked the achievement in the 7th week of the 2019 season with the following stats:
OVR 99,
PHY 99,
INT 100,
DUR 100,
SIZ 99,
PRD 98,
SPD 90,
STR 86,
ACC 91,
AGI 87,
AWR 95,
ELU 85,
BCV 89,
CAR 99,
JKM 80,
SPM 90,
SFA 99,
TRK 97,
CTH 45,
CIT 52,
SPC 45,
RTE 50,
RET 25,
STA 86,
TGH 99,
INJ 99.
I broke all the rushing records and all the game and season receiving record. I bought all developmental and consistency trait upgrades as soon as I could. Took me alot longer than I thought I would, it seemed like I was stuck at 98 forever. Every season after the super bowl I made sure I recovered the stats I lost immediately. Your production stat will go down but should go back up by the 4th or 5th week of the next season. Also I was having trouble getting my physical stat to increase but then realized that it goes up by 2's so it takes a little longer than the others. I also believe that your overall is a composite of the first 5 stats so if your already at 100 in it stop putting points into things that would increase that stat, for example if you are at 100 physical its pointless to put things into strength, speed, acceleration and agility likewise for the intangible grade and durability grade.

I made a Power back with the Cardinals and started with a 90 overall rating. He was 6'4 240

I turned Instant Starter on and put it on All Madden with 7 minutes. I kept all other settings the same. It took me 5 full regular seasons to get. I have the broken tackle, run blocking, and fumbles sliders at 100 for the first 4 years and the last year put qb accuarcy and wr catching to 100 too.

The first 4 years I played 5-7 games to get good stats (I was orignally getting the Emmit Smith Award) and the last year I played 15 games to get my production rating up. I did not play any playoff games. I did all pre-season and post season practices and the regular season practices before every game I played.

Note: After the 4th Super Bowl coach Whisenhunt retired and they hired a new coaching lowing by overall from 97 to 93. I reloaded it back before the Super Bowl and he stayed another year. You must make sure he stays your coach because of the scheme fit.

My career rushing stats were: 1870 attempts, 21,883 yards, 263 touchdowns.

My rushing stats by year:
Year 1: 430, 4,975, 62
Year 2: 379, 4,434, 54
Year 3: 382, 3,944, 51
Year 4: 356, 3,287, 34
Year 5: 323, 5,243, 62

My career receiving stats were: 346 rec, 4,709 yards, 66 touchdowns.

My receiving stats by year:
Year 1: 20, 300, 3
Year 2: 13, 49, 0
Year 3: 29, 275, 4
Year 4: 29, 212, 2
Year 5: 255, 3,873, 57
(After year 4 I broke all the rushing records and needed more experience so that is why I up the qb accuracy and catching sliders year 5 and started catching the ball)

I got to a 99 during the divisional round of year 5. You have to sim the week for the achivement to pop.

I finished with 4 super bowls, 4 championships and 21 awards. (5 MVP, 5 OPOY, 5 Best RB, 5 Pro Bowl, 1 OROY)

I broke all game, season and career rushing records and the game and season receiving records.

I finished with a 99 Physical, 100 intangible, 100 durability, 98 size and 99 production.

Use your first 50,000 experience points on the developmental trait.

My final stats were:
25 Kick Return
52 Catching
52 Catching In Traffic
50 Route Running
87 Stamina
90 Spin Move
78 Juke Move
98 Ball Carrying Vision
98 Awareness
65 Elusiveness

This achievement was part 3 of my 3 part achievement plan with one created player(LT award). After getting the LT award, and the HoF award, this one took a sixth season to get. If you want to get this achievement in 6 seasons,DON"T SIM!!(sim the last two seasons) Get behind the opposing QB and sack him when he hikes the ball. Do this for every game. I sometimes got 15-20 sacks a game, and I won 4 superbowls and had 3 perfect seasons. Sim seasons 5 & 6,then spend XP like crazy. The achievement won't pop up until you sim the next game. Good luck!!!

This is easiest to achieve if you create a Power Running Back that is High Draft pick of either the Arizona Cardinals or New York Jets as you will start off at 90 overall and be going for the Emmitt Smith Award. Play every game on at least Pro difficulty, but All-Madden is best for 3-4 seasons to earn enough XP to boost your abilities. Playing every game is IMPORTANT because you earn more XP by playing. Focus on getting at least 350 yards with 4 rushing touchdowns and 10-15 catches for 150 yards with 2 receiving touchdowns to earn between 4,000-10,000 XP a game. trophy unlocks after you play/sim the next game that your player is rated at 99.

If you leave leave your current team and go to a team where you are a "POOR" fit for the scheme, then your overall ability will drop. Make sure if you leave your current team, then go to a team where you are a "GOOD" fit for the scheme to keep your current overall ability.

The Key is to get your Physical Grade to 99, Intangible Grade to 100, Durability to 97, Size Grade to 98, and Production to 99. Physical Grade relies on your acceleration, speed, and agility. Your Size Grade will not change. If you play all your games, then your Production Grade will eventually reach 99.

Spend your XP to upgrade your running back in certain abilities, but not all abilities need to reach 99. Listed below is my running back abilities. Get each ability to match my running back, and you will get a 99 overall running back.
  • Speed-92
  • Strength-85
  • Accerlation-90
  • Agility-90
  • Awareness-95
  • Elusiveness-65
  • Ball Carrier Vison-90
  • Carrying-99
  • Juke Move-77
  • Spin Move-84
  • Stiff Arm-99
  • Trucking-97
  • Catching-53
  • Catch in Traffic-52
  • Spectacular Catch-45
  • Route Running-50
  • Realease-55
  • Jumping-65
  • Stamima-75
  • Toughness-99
  • Injury-99
  • Purchase the Development Trait twice
  • Purchase your Consistency to 2
You can also, thanks to Daft Assassin do the following as HB to get Peak Performance.
Just focus on playing every game and doing practice.
Get at least 350 rushing yards in each game, and then focus on receptions. Win every game.

The stats I raised for the 99 overall were:
  • Speed - 95
  • Acceleration - 91
  • Awareness - 98
  • Ball Carrier Vision - 97
  • Stamina - 79
I didn't raise any other stats. I got about 220,000 XP at the end of the first two seasons. Practiced every time, and skipped preseason games. Once I got the 99 overall, I began skipping practice
0
0

To get to overall 99 with a created player, the route I chose was the running back route. Create a Power Running Back for any team, just make sure you make your running back an instant starter. I kept the rest of the settings, including the difficulty, which is pro. This will unlock "Overall 80", "Overall 85", "Overall 90". I then simmed to the first game of the season and changed the sliders to everything in my favor. Make sure to put all CPU sliders on 0.

Now, play every single game of the season, but sim the pre-season and post season. (Make sure to win all post season games) By the middle of the third season, assuming you have played every game, you should have beaten both the all time rushing yards record and the all time rushing TD record. This should net you a ton of XP and Legacy score, as you will being winning the MVP and the Super Bowl along with other rewards.

I recommend using the Chiefs playbook, and then going into: By Play Type > Run > Counter > And then choose any counter play.

By this time, I had well over 200,000 XP, probably closer to 300,000 XP.

Now, raise these stats to these levels:

Speed - 95
Acceleration - 91
Awareness - 98
Ball Carrier Vision - 97
Stamina - 79

Nappster187 also said that if you upgrade strength, this will help your overall. (Physical Grade)

By this time, you should be at least a 96 to a 98 overall. Your production might not be in the high 90's quite yet, so you might have to play some more games to raise that. The stats that you need to raise into the high 90's are Physical, Intangible, Durability, Size and Production. To pass Emmit Smith, you need over 13,000 Legacy Score.

This should take about 3 seasons, and should take no longer than 4 seasons.
