How to unlock the Reggie White Award achievement in Madden NFL 13 - Definitive Guide
This achievement requires you to pass Reggie White's legacy with 13,057 points. This achievement took me until the end of my 4th regular season with 13,626.
I created a left end (LE) 6 foot 5 inches, 291 pounds. Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. My settings were: Instant Starter ON, ALL-MADDEN 10 Minute quarters, Coach Firing Off. I left all of the sliders alone EXCEPT for the penalties. I turned off sides, face mask, roughing the passer, and roughing the kicker down to ZERO (0).
I played all of the games in the first two (2) seasons and ended with about 8500 legacy points. I got MVP, Defensive MVP, Superbowl wins, Sacks/Tackle leader. In the third and fourth season, i simmed a few games but I made sure that I got MVP, and all of the others from before.
When you actually play, make sure you run and stay next to or in front of the quarterback because this gets you your sacks and tackles. Don't worry if you miss and don't get the sack or tackle. Same goes for field goals and point after tries (PAT). Line up on the other side and time it.
I wouldn't worry about purchase upgrades but I mainly purchased Stamina, Finesse Moves, Block Shedding, Hit Power, and a few traits.
My ending career stats are:
3 Superbowl Wins
3 Conference Champions
17 Yearly Awards
(these three are what you want to aim for because it passes Reggie White's)
Sacks 540
Total Tackles 891
Tackles 885
Tackles for loss 836
Forced Fumbles 48
Fumble Recoveries 15
Blocks 38
Safeties 10
Touchdowns 2

Start a new Connected Career as a Speed Rush Defensive End High Draft Pick for the Green Bay Packers. You can join any team you wish, but the Packers have a quarterback in Aaron Rodgers with a great offense and defensive stars that are young and will be around for many years. You want to join a good offensive team, because your team will score points forcing the opposing team to line up in the shotgun formation. When the opposing team is in the shotgun formation, it makes it easy for sacks.
Before starting your new Connected Career league, change difficulty to All-Madden (can leave it on Pro). Set all User sliders to 100, CPU sliders to 0, and all Penalties to 0. Leave rest of the settings at default.
This will take between 4-5 seasons to unlock. Make sure in the first five seasons to win the MVP award each year, Super Bowl each year, and by the fourth season break the all-time sack record of 200 sacks. After 5 years, you no longer get legacy points for them. Though, every year you still get legacy points for reaching legacy milestones in tackles and sacks Trophy unlocks when you surpass Reggie White's legacy score of 13,057.
Each Season do the following:

Each Season do the following:
- Sim all Preseason games.
- Play the first 4-6 games to earn around 40-50 sacks
- Sim remaining games
- Reach the playoffs
- First 5 seasons win the Superbowl and the MVP
- Simulate the offseason
The key here is to focus on getting sacks, MVP's, and Superbowls. Defensive players rarely win the league MVP and by getting MVP nets you a large amount of legacy points. Breaking the sack record also nets you a large amount of legacy points. You can run any defensive play, as with penalties off you can move near the Quarterback and wait for the snap to tackle/sack the Quarterback. Beware that "Encroachment" cannot be turned off so DO NOT run into any offensive players before the snap. Thanks to killingjoke87 for the information.
For all the defensive achievements, just make your DB, LB or DL an instant starter. Make sure to play on All Madden. Change Offsides to 0, and play as many games until you get 40 to 50 sacks. Sim the rest of the season and you should get the MVP award and have won the superbowl. Do the same thing each season, and after about 5 seasons you should be able to get these achievements.
Sanders has a legacy score of a little over 8,000, and White and Taylor's legacy scores are a little more than 13,000. You can do this for all 3 achievements.
