How to unlock the Shannon Sharpe Award achievement in Madden NFL 13 - Definitive Guide

The easiest way to get this is to create a vertical tight end and put him on any team you want. Make him 7 foot tall. Put instant starter to "ON" so he'll start every game. Set the difficulty to all-madden, 7 min quarters. and adjust the sliders so the computer's defense is terrible and your QB accuracy and catching abilities are maxed out.

Just pick any play where your player is on the field. Then press any button on the directional pad and hot route the other receivers to block, so your receiver is the only one running a route. Then run around until the QB throws it to you. Just repeat and you should get over 20 catches, over 700 yards, and 10-15 touchdowns.

Just do this for about three games and you'll have stats good enough to get MVP, rookie of the year, pro bowl, league leader in catches, and offensive player of the year. And make sure you win the super bowl.

Using this method I was able to unlock the achievement when I won the super bowl in my third season. This can be a little frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be simple. Good luck!

Is it possible to win the MVP award over your quarterback? Ive been dominating with my tight end and my quarterback is still ahead of me in the MVP voting...

Yes it is. As long as you have a ridiculous number of touchdowns, you'll easily win MVP over your QB

This will probably take about 5 or 6 hours depending on how well you play the game. I created a balanced, high draft pick TE. My recommendation is to go to a team that you will start on right away. I personally picked the Bills since their TEs were poor. Simulating WILL NOT get you points. after simulating my first season, I came away with 79 legacy points. The next two seasons I played every single game. My strategy during the games was to pick a play that had me in the center of the field. I'd snap the ball, run to the center about 10 yards and call for the pass within one or two seconds of the play starting. Most of the time, I was uncovered, and I got about 20 or so yards per catch. I ran the hurry up and repeated the same play every single time. I also occasionally audibled into a Play Action pass, which would leave me even more open. Using this method, I would get about 30 catches and 500 yards per game. After 3 seasons, my character has 527 catches, 9150 yards, and 102 touchdowns. As long as you win your games, break records, and put up big numbers you should be able to get the achievement in 2-3 seasons.

I am currently playing for the Giants on All-Madden. Using the "Slants" play makes this so easy.

i recommend playing for the broncos and using the y trail play go no huddle and audible to the deep pass play, it usually will work as a 1 2 punch u gain bout 10 to 12 yrds on the y trail and the deep pass will get u a touchdown almost every time

So if I create a vertical threat TE that is 7' tall and pick a team with a great QB, I should probably finish this in 2 seasons correct?

QB doesnt really matter, remember I used the Bills... As long as you can catch the ball you'll be fine. Pick a team with bad TE's. Picking a team like New England wouldn't be a good idea, but a team like Buffalo would be fine

Got this in one season. Didn't even have to do the playoffs. Played on the Steelers, used several plays in the Shotgun Trio formation that let me have the whole right side of the field. Finished with 446 rec, 8907 yards, and 111 TD in the regular season and it popped as soon as I advanced to the Wildcard round (MVP award, OPOY, etc).

I don't know if anyone still looks at these solutions but playing on All-Madden makes a huge difference. If I would go for about 35 catches and 800 yards on Rookie I'd gain about 200 legacy points but I just played a game on All-Madden (I upped the difficult between seasons) and I just got about 600 legacy in a game with about 30 catches and 700 yards. I also adjusted the sliders in my favor so if anyone is reading this it's the fastest way!

Make yourself a 7 foot tall tight end on the Lions and a high draft, vertical threat TE.

Run the 4 vertical play and make Stafford throw the deep ball.

The only situation where this will not work is in the redzone/close to endzone, on those plays just run a play action slot route and come back to face the Qb when he throws it and shield off the defender.

Just keep sprinting to the right off the ball land target and at the last second, jump to your left in front of the defender and you should use your height advantage to catch it 50% of the time. I did this method one game and got 600 receiving yards on all madden in a 7 minute quarter length. Also, adjust teh sliders so that player catch rating is 100 and cpu tackle, interception and pass reaction are 0.

Start a new Connected Career as a Vertical Threat Tight End High Draft Pick for the Green Bay Packers. You can join any team you wish, but the Packers were my choice.

Before starting your new Connected Career league, change difficulty to All-Madden (can leave it on Pro). Set all User sliders to 100, CPU sliders to 0, and all Penalties to 0. Leave rest of the settings at default.

This will take between 1-2 seasons to unlock. Play at least the first 5-8 games in the first season. Make sure to win the MVP and Super Bowl. You get lots of legacy points for winning MVP and breaking single season receiving records, since those records are held by wide receivers. You will be required to be on the FG block squad. Trophy unlocks when you surpass Shannon Sharpe's legacy score of 6,125.

Each Season do the following:
  • Sim all Preseason games.
  • Play enough games to earn at least 5,000 yards receiving
  • Play enough games to earn at least 50 receiving touchdowns.
  • Sim remaining games
  • Reach the playoffs
  • First 2 seasons win the Superbowl and the MVP
  • Simulate the offseason
They key is to find a passing play you are comfortable with and run that same play over and over. A shotgun formation with your Tight-end is a good choice. After each play that is successful, quickly double tap to run the hurry up offense to run the same play again as using the hurry up offense gives you more possessions. Beware even on All-Madden with sliders in your favor, the defense can still swat balls away from you.

For this one, create a Vertical Tight End and make him an instant starter. Play enough games during the year to break the receptions, receiving TD's and receiving yards record. You should win the Super Bowl and the MVP. (sim the playoffs) Sim the Offseason and the Preseason, and you then re-break the records you set the last season. This achievement isn't too bad as Shannon Sharpe's Legacy Score is only slightly above 6,000.

This should take 2 - 3 seasons.
