How to unlock the Double Trouble achievement in Madden NFL 15 - Definitive Guide

Ok guys, so for this achievement its pretty straightforward, simply have your team reach 85 OVR (overall) and have both team style's reach 40 each.

SHORTCUTS
First things first. I personally went on EBay and bought the preorder code which gives you 1 pro pack per week for 10 weeks....when I entered my code It was 2 weeks after release and I got 2 packs, so I'm assuming that if you enter the code 8 weeks after release you get 8 packs etc. Etc.....however I can't confirm this, but in any event for around $5 to $7 on eBay you can buy this and be guaranteed to get 10 pro packs.

Now I also spent about $50 in game on packs....they had some really crazy offers like packs that guaranteed 10 gold cards per pack. HOWEVER the highest card I ever pulled were 85's!!!!

I warn you now that the packs suck in regards to pulling elite cards or even 86+ cards. I'm not the only one who tried buying these packs for elites. My friend spent $20 on the 10 gold player packs and the highest he got was a 83!

****** IF you have a person you trust you can trade cards amongst yourselves using the trade system, however you must make sure you are both buying the same team style cards .... BUT BEWARE some TA members have lost all their cards by trading with unknowns on TA ******

QUICK COINS
Now the only good thing about pulling from packs is the fact that you can sell all the crap you pull....NOT players but you can easily sell ....

PLAYBOOKS
COACHES
UNIFORMS
STADIUMS

When you list these items price them as I suggest and they will mostly all sell in a matter of seconds or minutes.

(START 300 - BUYOUT 350) ON all four of the items listed above.

* be aware you should keep one coach, one stadium, one offensive playbook and one defensive playbook, as well as a home and away uniform.

BUYING CARDS
Now with all this coin income buy or save up for 85+ cards from the auction house! NEVER BUY A CARD UNDER 85! all it will do is make it harder to hit 85.

* NEVER USE COINS TO BUY PACKS!!! the odds of getting a 85 or higher card from packs are horrendous! Go with the guaranteed payoff and buy a card from the auction house.

This achievement will take time and many games played so first I suggest buying 85+ CB and SS cards! These guys will pull off sick interceptions for you!

Next upgrade your HB! You will want to call running plays over and over to run down the clock!!! Next upgrade the offensive line to create holes for your running back!

Next upgrade the rest of your defense and then your QB and then the WR and TE and FB spots.

* Upgrading your QB will boost you the most of any other position. When I added a 85 QB it took my OVR up 3 points!

**** Remember buy cards with the same style until you reach 40 in both styles, after you hit the 40 in both you can buy any style player you wish. ****

WINNING GAMES
For offense call the running play called TRAP, you can find it by searching the run plays it has its own section called trap and should include only 2 different trap plays....run it straight up the middle every play.

For defense always call blitz plays.

Now play a teams pre season game to unlock the regular season....beat all regular season games and then play the ELITE team game.

SELLING BADGES
After you play all 10 of these games you should have badges that you earned!!

You will want to keep ONE gold badge to get a gold coach that fits your desired team style... That gold coach will boost your style greatly!

Auction off all other badges for the following prices

Bronze (START 550 - BUYOUT 600)
SILVER (START 2000 - BUYOUT 2900)
GOLD (START 3000 - BUYOUT 5000)
ELITE (20,000 - BUYOUT 50,000)

Its not worth it to keep badges, auction then to obtain quick coins so you can keep upgrading your team!!

BUYING SMART
Remember there is NO reason to spend 300,000 on one card, instead buy 85's for anywhere from 8,000 to 25,000 and 86 to 87 cards for 20,000 to 50,000.

When my achievement popped I had
15 85 cards
2 86 cards
2 87 cards

REMEMBER!!!! When buying cards make sure you choose the same style!!! Not all of these cards need to be the same style but the majority will be to hit 40 for offense and defense.

Good luck, feel free to ask questions in the comments.

Great input bro, my prices are just for the quick sell really... I sold one elite badge for 60k, the other had trouble selling for 50k. It really all comes down to luck.

I've bought gold badges for 3700 at times....sold it for 5k. Same thing though... Twice I listed gold badges for 5k buyout and no one bought....about 10 other times they sold in a few minutes for 5k.

Personally I couldn't stand the low payout for pre season games so that's why I suggest the regular season and elite, remember of you complete the regular season and elite game that FIVE opportunities to get a gold or elite badge. I actually got TWO elite badges that way. But again...all a matter of luck right ;)

As far as those elite games... I found if I used that trap play spam and blitz on defense with my 85 CBs and SS it was amazingly easy. Had to replay a couple elite games though....mostly comes down to time management. I usually am able to run only and burn two 5 minute quarters on ONE possession.

This is good, but there's some playbooks that sell for over 2k (The only one that really sells for that much is the Eagles Offensive playbook) But the offensive playbooks that contain option play schemes always sell well(Stuff like Seattle, and San Francisco) . Defensive ones don't usually sell for much, but Seahawks might.

Always price check higher overall gold cards (84+ usually)

http://www.muthead.com/15/players I used this to price some of the silver cards in my reserves, and I made a lot off of that. Some silver cards are selling for 5,000+, but those are mainly ones in elite collections.

Bronze cards aren't really valuable at all.

You should really note that those Elite solo challenges are on All-Madden difficulty, so some people may have trouble getting through those. I recommend doing all of the training camp solo challenges. They're unbelievably easy and if you run through all 33 you'll get 33,000 coins.

Lots of solid info you have here really. Pack luck/odds hasn't changed much since last year though laugh

Oh, and Gold Badges usually float around 7,000 coins, and Elites will usually sell for 55k, but 50k is solid enough. (If you're lucky enough to pull one!)

You'll be able to use double syles once you reach 85. If you go below it you'll still have them. You should be able to make two 40 style teams even if you're not buying players specifically for that (I know I wasn't)

That's all I have to say really. I'll post again if something comes to mind.

I would also add to have a 2nd lineup of low value players to play the easier games with. I burnt through a lot of contracts on my 1st lineup trying elite games. This way you can conserve contracts on your better cards. You can add new lineups under lineup tools in my lineup screen and switch between em there

In previous years once you hit 85 and unlocked the option to choose two team style ratings the options stayed unlocked even if your overall rating dropped below 85. That way you don't have to limit your team styles for your higher rated players. May be able to save some coins.

For this achievement you need two styles 40 or over. Is this when you're using your best lineup overall? I have SP at 79 and LP at 88 when I adjust the lineup for best possible for each style and no achievement.

I unlocked this with just 80 OVR team rating. Just go back from the lineup menu and the achievement should be unlocked if BOTH team style's are 40 and above at the same time.

CounterInsurgnt's solution has some good advice, but the prices for players and items seem to have changed since then, and as an absolute beginner at the game there's no way I could beat an elite challenge.

Until signing up for EA Access a few weeks ago, I'd never played a Madden game in my life, and even now I have only a rudimentary knowledge of the rules of the sport. If I can get this achievement reasonably quickly without spending any money, then anyone can.

To get coins all I did was grind out the Training Camp solo challenges. These are the easiest challenges in the game and even a total beginner like me had no trouble beating them. Even if you do lose you still get 200 coins, which should cover the cost of the contracts used. Each of these challenges gives 1000 coins, a mediocre player rated 65 or so, and an item that when put in a set with a bronze badge gives you another 500 coins and a silver coach. At the time of writing the average price at auction for a bronze badge is 250-300 coins. By refreshing the auction house for cheapest "buy now" you can often get this down to 200. So after the cost of buying a bronze badge, each Training Camp challenge nets 1200-1300 coins, plus another 30 if you quicksell the player you get. One of the first challenges you do should be one whose Training Camp Set gets you a silver coach with your chosen style. The coach will give a +10 boost to that style.

Once you have some coins, its time to go to the auction house. The aim here is to get as many 85+ players as you can for as little outlay as possible. I would hit the auction house each time I had about 8 or 9 thousand, and try to get 3 or 4 players. At first you just want to go for players of your chosen style (I chose RS). Then once you have 50 in that, start working on your chosen second style. You will probably get 40 in both before you get the OVR of 85 needed to unlock the second style. There's no benefit to boosting the style any further, so from that point players of any style will do.

Searching the auction house sorting by Buy Now price seems the most efficient method. You often get cards that have only just been put on that are priced low. A specific search can help get these - if there are loads of results, not all items get loaded at once. So search for individual positions one at a time. I found Buy Now more efficient than sniping; the auction time gets extended if you bid in the final minute, so bidding wars can go on a long time and the price can rise a lot. This might change as the player pool drops over time.

Its always worth looking up a player's recent price on muthead.com to check the going rate. Prices go up sharply for 88+ rated players, so stick to getting 85s and 86s. If you see an 83 or 84 priced really cheaply (under 1000), don't dismiss it just because you want an overall of 85+. If that card is going to replace a 63 or 64 in the lineup, it still helps your overall to rise for very little outlay. Judging by the other solution, things are a lot cheaper in 2015 than they were in 2014. I never paid more than 3500 for a player.

I unlocked the achievement when I had done about two thirds of the Training Camp challenges. Other than the starter pack and players bought from the auction house, my only other sources of players were packs obtained from the training drills and a 92 player that you get by playing Madden NFL 25 (another EA Access vault game).

You need to have an overall team rating of 85 to unlock a second style. Once you have two styles unlocked, rank them both up to at least 40 points.

When you are editing your teams' line up, you can change the team style, as well as the line up so it makes your current style the highest with your current roster. You will need to collect quite a few good players to earn these achievements. Play the solo challenges (games against the computer) for pretty easy coins to use on packs or at the auction house. Alternatively, use real money to buy packs. I don’t recommend this, but if you want to move on to better things, that’s the way to do it. Having two styles to ranks 40 requires quite a good roster as you need to have a style rating of at least 40 in two different styles. You may want to aim at complimentary styles to make this achievement easier.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

Upon creation of your MUT team you will be asked what style of play you want your team to have. You can choose whatever you like.

Once your team is created you will now need to build it up to at least an 85 to unlock two team styles. You build your team up by unlocking coins and points that you then use to buy pro packs which contain better players and coaches. You can obtain pro packs by playing solo challenges and or MUT season games. You can also auction and trade for players and coaches as well.

But most people simply purchase pro packs with real life currency; sadly this is a much more efficient way of building a high ranking team. However you choose to build your team, remember you will need to get it to an overall 85 before you can unlock two team styles.

Note: Once you have an 85 overall team the two style slots will open and stay open even if your overall team drops below 85. So you are free to trade high rating cards away for style specific cards once you open up both slots.

Once you have your team styles unlocked you should focus on building up your two chosen styles. Use the "set best lineup" option and sort by team styles to see how close you are to each style. Whichever styles you are best in you should go out and try to find players and a coach that match that style. Make good use of the trade and auction blocks.

You can also choose to trade cards with friends or like minded individuals found here: MUT Trading Cards Thread.
