How to unlock the Stay Focused achievement in Madden NFL 16 - Definitive Guide

There really is a way to boost this. Cheesy, but it does work. All the way through the 10 games you'll need.

First, it'd be nice to have a decent team. Try to do the skills trainer first or play some games so you've earned some good players. Not talking 80+, just high 70s or so if possible. Then do the following:

1. Adjust your lineup to make your best overall team.
2. Swap bad players at every position so that your top players aren't starters.
3. Try to get your team to about 57-59 overall.
4. Have a friend do the same.
5. Search at exactly the same time. You match based on skill level.
6. If you don't match (and I mean you don't both see the screen change at the same time), you can:
a. Both press the home button and quit Madden, or
b. Go into the game, pause at the first opportunity (after the kickoff), go into depth chart and choose your best lineup. Since you probably matched against a 60 or so, you should be able to beat them reasonably easy.

You have 2 potential losses to give, so keep trying to match.

IMPORTANT!! When you match, play through the games at least a while. Let the winner score a few TDs. Use Chew Clock to speed up the game. Finishing the games is better than always quitting out, since EA has been known to ban players who constantly quit. Play some, and then you can't really be blamed because they're the ones who matched you in the first place.

Why is it good to have a decent team first?

In case you don't match up against your friend. You can't quit out once you match up except by dashboarding. If you have a decent team, you can reset your depth chart that should be better than whomever you matched against.

Oh I see. So if I were to boost this and me and my boosting partner dashboard out every time we don't match up, we don't need a decent team right?

Yes, but by having a lower rates team you might actually match up better, and if not, go to your depth chart and reorder and you'll probably be fine.

We were gonna boost this and I got the other 2 online MUT achievements, but when I got to post-season, it got really hard to match up. After like 40 minutes we found each other again and I won the divisional. Then on the conference final (last game!!), we both matched up at the same time but it was with different people and I lost the game so I have to do it all over again >.< Anyway, did you also have more trouble finding each other when one of you was at the post-season?

Also, can you quit out as soon as you see another players name in the top right corner, or does that count as a loss? (In case that happens again)

Watch for the "stutter" when you're searching. You should both stutter almost simultaneously. If not, dashboard immediately. If you quit before the kickoff, that should work... but don't count on it exclusively.

Again, a warning: EA bans for repeated quitting, so be careful. That's why I suggest having better players and manipulating the depth chart if possible.

And yes, I did find that it was harder to match up in the post-season. Loading screens suggest that matching up against the same players repeatedly affects payouts, so this may carry over into playoff matching. One way to avoid matching against the "same" person may be for your friend to use an alt.

Never heard of ea banning for quitting especially last year . They ban you for boosting Bc you win coins and you can use those coins to buy free agents in auctions.

Boosting by quitting is the most efficient method. If EA would let us quit out once someone joined but before the game started, it wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah I agree it's the best method but I never heard of being banned for quitting . They ban you for boosting coins. A lot of people that play madden boost to get free coins to upgrade there mut team.

To get this achievement you will need skill, a good team and some luck.

Sorry for a the little bit of wackiness with the text, I copied and pasted this and tried to adjust as best I could.

How to build you team and get coins:

Let's start with your team. The best way to earn coins and some good players is by going through the NFL Journey challenges. When you finish all of these challenges you receive a 90 rated Jameis Winston card. You should also do the Gatorade weekly challenges when they show up as a way to get a contracts and do the coin up games too. Watch the action block for deals on players is also a good way to upgrade your team but I would recommend that you wait to do this until you are done with the NFL journey, so you know what positions you need to upgrade.

If you have friends you could trade players between each other that you need or "give" each other coins through the action block by putting a 60 rated player at 25,000
coins for example. What also really helped me was getting lucky to get 150,000 from the Large Quicksell set in the Vault after I had finished my NFL Journey. Also, if
contracts are half off in the store you should take advantage and stock up on them.

Also I would recommend getting one of the legend receivers or the tight end (J.Horn, B.Finneran or S.Sharpe) as odds are you will be throwing more then running. If you
are a running team though try and get T.Davis. It is usually cheaper to buy each part of a legends set separately then buying them from the auction block and I only
had enough to get some legends after hitting the 150,000 Large Quicksell. You will get a legend badge and a legend item from the last tier of the NFL Journey Challenges.

Week 4: 21-10, L (Note: I was winning and my internet went out, so I got a L)

Week 7: 31-27, W
Week 8: 6-3, W

Wilcard: 27-19, W
Divisional: 13-0, W (Note: kid quit in the 1st)
Conference: 14-7, W (Note: kid quit in the 2nd)

To get a 1st round bye you must win 8 games in the regular season.

This is where the skill and luck part comes into play. Obviously you have to have some level of skill to win games. Get ready to deal with most people going for it on
4th down and not punting the football. Also you defense will most likely not be able to stop the other team, you really have to get lucky with turnovers and holding them to field goals. You also have to hope you internet does not go out during the game because if that happens you get a loss or on the flip side a win if it happens to your opponent.

Some people will abandon ship early if they turn it over early and you score off it, others will stick around and endure it. I got lucky and had my easiest matchups in my last two games. In the Divisional round my opponents 3 best players were 82,81,81 and in the Conference it was 84, 83, 82. They also both turned it over twice in the 1st quarter which led to me scoring. On the opposite side of the scale my opponent in week 5 had legends T.Davis, J. Elway and D. Brooks. It is really luck of the draw in how good you opponent is skill wise and in terms of their team.

A Glitch?

This is not a glitch, both achievements just unlock when you get the Super Bowl. Thanks to https://www.trueachievements.com/Dr+Zleek.htm for mentioning this.

On the my last note when I won my Conference game I not only got the 'Why not me in the Super Bowl' achievement but also the 'Stay Focused' achievement for getting a 1st round bye despite me finishing the regular season 5-3. I can only assume that this is a glitch of some kind and the game just registered I had 8 wins and unlocked the achievement.

I hope this guide helps in some small way to get this pain of an achievement. Good luck and happy hunting everyone!

It's not a glitch. If you make it to the super bowl you unlock both achievements, it's the same as madden 15 :)

Just an add on to the other guides which are good. Some plays that work well in madden 16. Fb dive, hb toss, inside zone are great run plays in this particular madden. As far as passing the ball goes hb screen, wr screen (when opponent is in zone) any crossing drag or slant routes. And the corner route is very effective. Also aggressive catch and possession catch can be very op. Don't underutilized this aspect of the game. Good luck.
