How to unlock the Why not me in the Super Bowl? achievement in Madden NFL 16 - Definitive Guide

There really is a way to boost this. Cheesy, but it does work. All the way through the 10 games you'll need.

First, it'd be nice to have a decent team. Try to do the skills trainer first or play some games so you've earned some good players. Not talking 80+, just high 70s or so if possible. Then do the following:

1. Adjust your lineup to make your best overall team.
2. Swap bad players at every position so that your top players aren't starters.
3. Try to get your team to about 57-59 overall.
4. Have a friend do the same.
5. Search at exactly the same time. You match based on skill level.
6. If you don't match (and I mean you don't both see the screen change at the same time), you can:
a. Both press the home button and quit Madden, or
b. Go into the game, pause at the first opportunity (after the kickoff), go into depth chart and choose your best lineup. Since you probably matched against a 60 or so, you should be able to beat them reasonably easy.

You have 2 potential losses to give, so keep trying to match.

IMPORTANT!! When you match, play through the games at least a while. Let the winner score a few TDs. Use Chew Clock to speed up the game. Finishing the games is better than always quitting out, since EA has been known to ban players who constantly quit. Play some, and then you can't really be blamed because they're the ones who matched you in the first place.

Tried boosting this with a second account a few weeks ago. Got my account all the way to Championship game and by that time in the morning was seeing more and more randoms appear and get matched with my second account. I decided to wait until the next day to play the Championship game and my team was reset to 0 wins and 0 losses. I was scoring a safety with my account and then had my second account quit out.
Tried to boost again the same way and my account got advanced to the next level and reset to 0 wins and 0 losses again.
Didn't get banned, but thought it was random... Just wanted to share my experience. Figured I would let the season end and activity should die off so I don't have as much chance being matched up with randoms.

Could you put in your lower ranked players and get matched to people with sucky teams and then just put in your good players as well?

To get this achievement you will need skill, a good team and some luck.

Sorry for a the little bit of wackiness with the text, I copied and pasted this and tried to adjust as best I could.

How to build you team and get coins:

Let's start with your team. The best way to earn coins and some good players is by going through the NFL Journey challenges. When you finish all of these challenges you receive a 90 rated Jameis Winston card. You should also do the Gatorade weekly challenges when they show up as a way to get contracts and do the coin up games too. Watch the action block for deals on players is also a good way to upgrade your team but I would recommend that you wait to do this until you are done with the NFL journey, so you know what positions you need to upgrade.

If you have friends you could trade players between each other that you need or "give" each other coins through the action block by putting a 60 rated player at 25,000
coins for example. What also really helped me was getting lucky to get 150,000 from the Large Quicksell set in the Vault after I had finished my NFL Journey. Also, if
contracts are half off in the store you should take advantage and stock up on them.

Also I would recommend getting one of the legend receivers or the tight end (J.Horn, B.Finneran or S.Sharpe) as odds are you will be throwing more then running. If you
are a running team though try and get T.Davis. It is usually cheaper to buy each part of a legends set separately then buying them from the auction block and I only
had enough to get some legends after hitting the 150,000 Large Quicksell. You will get a legend badge and a legend item from the last tier of the NFL Journey Challenges.

My finished team:

87 Overall, 87 Offense, 86 Defense
Team Style: 45 SP, 42 ZD
Offensive Playbook: Giants

LT: W.Jones (93, L)
LG: J.Sitton (88)
C: M.Unger (86)
RG: B.Brooks (85)
RT: R.Wagner (86)

Defense/Specialist:

RE: C.Johnson (86), M.Devito (80)

My Season: 8-3

Level: Rookie 2nd String

Week 1: 24-27, L
Week 2: 20-17, W
Week 3: 10-7, W (Note: kid quit the game in the 3rd)
Week 4: 21-10, L (Note: I was winning and my internet went out, so I got a L)
Week 5: 20-28, L
Week 6: 42-21, W (Note: kid quit the game in the 3rd)
Week 7: 31-27, W
Week 8: 6-3, W

Wilcard: 27-19, W
Divisional: 13-0, W (Note: kid quit in the 1st)
Conference: 14-7, W (Note: kid quit in the 2nd)

This is where the skill and luck part comes into play. Obviously you have to have some level of skill to win games. Get ready to deal with most people going for it on
4th down and not punting the football. Also you defense will most likely not be able to stop the other team, you really have to get lucky with turnovers and holding them to field goals. You also have to hope you internet does not go out during the game because if that happens you get a loss or on the flip side a win if it happens to your opponent.

Some people will abandon ship early if they turn it over early and you score off it, others will stick around and endure it. I got lucky and had my easiest matchups in my last two games. In the Divisional round my opponents 3 best players were 82,81,81 and in the Conference it was 84, 83, 82. They also both turned it over twice in the 1st quarter which led to me scoring. On the opposite side of the scale my opponent in week 5 had legends T.Davis, J. Elway and D. Brooks. It is really luck of the draw in how good you opponent is skill wise and in terms of their team.

On the my last note when I won my Conference game I not only got the 'Why not me in the Super Bowl' achievement but also the 'Stay Focused' achievement for getting a 1st round bye despite me finishing the regular season 5-3. I can only assume that this is a glitch of some kind and the game just registered I had 8 wins and unlocked the achievement.

I hope this guide helps in some small way to get this pain of an achievement. Good luck and happy hunting everyone!

The above guides are great, and I just want to add/reword a couple other ways you can build a good team.
Try and save coins early in the NFL season, wait for lots of new players to be added to the collection of MUT cards, and buy specific players from the auction block. I was able to build a 94 Ovr team within a few weeks casually using this strategy, without spending any money irl, albeit starting after the release date of Madden 17 was announced. When scouring the auction block, try and look for players who have good stats but aren't that well known or famous. These players tend to be just as good as the famous players, but can be bought for a lot cheaper. Players like DeVante Parker and Sean Smith are good examples of this. An easy way to make money is to put bronze, silver, or gold players in their respective sets in the Warehouse Set and get Badge Packs off of them. You can then upgrade the badges in the Vault Set. Completing Solo Challenges and Draft Champions are the easiest way to get free packs with lots of players. Once you attain badges, you can sell them off the auction block yourself. Gold Badges and Elite Badges sell the easiest, with Gold Badges being the better bargain of the two. NFL Journey II and III are the Solo Challenges that offer the greatest amount of coins and packs from my experience, so try and get through those early, get used to your team, and build up income before heading to MUT Seasons. I cannot stress using the auction enough, as you can add specific players and styles to your team, instead of using the unreliable (and expensive) randomness of packs and completing sets. I also wrote a guide for the The Champion achievement, in case you want general details on how to face human opponents online. As irritating as it is with how little effort EA puts into this game, MUT is actually a really enjoyable and competitive mode. With a good team, this achievement is easily attainable and quite enjoyable along the way, especially when you manage to get people to quit in the 1st or 2nd quarter. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Right here:
Madden NFL 16The ChampionThe The Champion achievement in Madden NFL 16 worth 49 pointsComplete a Draft Champions event undefeated.

It's under the overview section at the bottom. I can only give you general guidelines, given the nature of online play, but I hope my tips are good enough to get the achievements.

Where's your guide for facing online players?

Just got this as my last cheevo in the game and wanted to pitch in my 2 cents. I highly recommend the method that Sashamorning used, that is having a good team but starting with bad players and subbing in the good players at the start of the game. No need to pull ALL the good players... I left my OL and DL mostly intact but put in bad skill position players. My overall rating was a 69 and every time I was able to beat whoever I was matched with (and I'm not that good).

This achievement really frustrated my at the end because I made it through my season without a single loss and was playing for a chance at the Super Bowl. I think EA matches you in playoffs with other people who are at the same point and YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THAT THEY MAY BE IN A HIGHER LEAGUE (AKA, WAY BETTER)! I went from winning every game that season to getting beat 35-0 and was pissed. Worst part was it bumped me up to the next league, so you're going to be playing better players.

If that happens to you, I recommend intentionally losing every game to get demoted or quitting. I quit most games and didn't get banned, then started from scratch again and won the achievement.

This is by far the most difficult in this game IMO. Bottom line, get a good team, put your good players as your second string, matchmake, substitute the good players, and win. If you lose the game before the SB, just do really bad to get demoted and start again.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

Boosting Warning: There is a high likelihood that you will be suspended from MUT if you boost the Season wins trophies so boost at your own risk. EA has also sent out "cheating warnings" putting people on notice that they are actively combating any "shenanigans." The game also warns about playing the same opponent two times within five games.

Update on Bans and Reversals: EA has instituted an appeal system where you can appeal your ban. You can appeal you ban by either calling or e-mailing EA. Tell them it was for trophies, you were not trying to manipulate their currency and you will not do it again. This should get you "unbanned" and you will be able to access the online portion of the game again.

If you do boost, make sure you have all the other MUT trophies first and make sure to finish it in as few sessions as possible. Have your boosting partner use alternate accounts if possible just in case you get your trophy but they get suspended before they had a chance to unlock theirs. Madden NFL 16 seems to have introduced a new matchmaking system which only matches up players of similar skills but it seems to be very inconsistent so meeting up with your boosting partner may be harder to do than before.

This trophy is identical to last year’s trophy which is good because you don’t have to win the Super Bowl; you only need to make it there. If you attempt this trophy legit, currently, this may be the only way to unlock this trophy. The good news is you can screen your opponents before you play them. When you start up a heat to head seasons game, you will be able to see your opponents top 3 players. If their top 3 players are significantly better than your top 3 then you can exit the game without a loss by either closing the application or disconnecting from the internet/network (Note: A lot of scrubs buy great teams but are horrible at the game, so just because they have 3 very high rated players doesn’t mean they are good). You will not get a loss doing this but your players will use up a game played contract.

My advice is to build up your team so it can compete with MUT players who have stacked rosters. A better team makes this trophy much easier to obtain. You can build a very strong team without spending much/any real life money by completing solo challenges, completing objectives and sets, and making good use of the auction block. Auction off cards/players you don’t need and with those proceeds buy the ones that will help you. Use MUT Trading Cards Thread to trade with like minded and improve your teams. I was easily able to make it to two championship games by having a modest 76-79 OVR team and screening my opponents. Once you make the playoff be extra diligent in your screening and don’t be afraid to wait. I lost my first championship game because I played someone I probably shouldn’t have. On my second time through I was very patient and backed out of a lot of games before I found a low rated team I was confident I could beat. I was able to handily beat that opponent for my trophy.

You can also choose to boost these trophies. Boosting works the exact same way as it did last year but you will need to have a secondary line-up that is similar to that of your boosting partner’s. This means staying within 3-5 points of your partner’s OVR rating, i.e. if he is an 53 OVR then you want to be with 3 points of that so have your line-up at 50-56 OVR. Try to have your teams OVR pretty low like around 50. Find a boosting partner using this thread: MUT Boosting Thread

The boosting method is as follows:
  • Join a chat with you partner, voice works the best but a text chat would be adequate.
  • Go to the head to head seasons in the MUT "play" section.
  • Advanced settings don’t seem to be important this year so choose whatever you like.
  • Now count down so you and your partner press search at the same time.
  • Once you are searching hit the button and go to the players met tab. Be sure your boosting partner is the person who comes up in the tab. If not hold the button and back out of the game or immediately sign out of PSN. You have until the kickoff to quit using one of the previous mentioned ways without the game counting it as a loss.
  • If you do find your partner then have the designated loser quit out of the game from the pause menu after the kick-off.
  • Repeat until you unlock your trophy.
  • Now swap and do the same for you boosting partner.
You make the playoffs after 5 wins. You earn a first round bye by not losing more than two games during the season. And to make the Super Bowl you need to win the Divisional and NFL Championship playoff games.

*ChowderlyDude has confirmed you can indeed boost this trophy. BocoProwler sums up how he quickly boosted it.

So I just got this done with a boosting partner, it was very very easy. Here is what we did, I got this info from other posts. First, replace the starters on your team with low rated players to make your team as low rated as possible. We got ours to 50 each, not sure if you can go lower, but make sure it's in the low 50s and try to have the same exact OVR rating as your partner. We did a 3-2-1 countdown over voice chat and got each other every single time while we each got the trophies, so over 20 games in a row vs each other. The only time either of us were vs someone else is when I didn't hit X to continue. I suggest that you also trade a screenshot over PSN of your 3 card loading screen, as this won't change. Makes it easier to make sure you are going vs your booster. Also, after hitting advanced to SEARCH for a match, there will be a bar at the bottom middle that says LOADING (first indication that you found a match) and another one about saving PROFILE (bottom right). These will also appear at the same time on your opponents screen, so another way to check.
Good Luck!

Probably the toughest achievement in the game. You must build a great team and win the majority of your games. You could also attempt to have a boosting partner. For the MUT online games, this is what you need to do. Have a boosting partner. Do a custom search for low DNF and similar skill level (assuming you are both similarly skilled players, and have little DNF%). This will make it the quickest and easiest. Once you are matched in a lobby, you will need to win all the games in a row until you are in the Super Bowl.
