How to unlock the Lockdown Corner achievement in Madden NFL 19 - Definitive Guide

I was having a hard time getting this by actually doing the CB part, so I looked up alternatives, and I found that the achievement doesn't require YOU actually win the presses, just someone on your team. If the computer wins the presses while you control a lineman, it will still count when the same player reaches three successful presses.

So I did this during my Full Set grind. Use two controllers and play two minute quarters with no accelerated play clock. Have your second controller get the ball and when choosing the play, choose Concept --> Deep Pass --> Verticals --> Four Verticals. Any version would work, but I used the one where the RB runs through the line and goes left.

On your main controller, on defense, choose Concept --> Cover 1 --> Cover 1 Robber Press. Then, before you snap, hit cn_Y and do cn_LSd which will choose a coverage adjustment of 'Press'. This will move your CB's closer to the line and encourage your CB's to press their WR. Then, just hike the ball with your second controller while you control one of the defensive linemen or linebackers.

Now with your second controller, you want to throw the ball to cn_RB when he gets reasonably open, about 4-6 seconds into the play. When he gets tackled, mash cn_Y to do a No Huddle which will keep both the plays the same and rush everyone back to the line. You need to repeat the coverage adjustment to encourage press, but then you can repeat the snap. Keep repeating this through the first quarter and the second quarter if necessary. Eventually, Lockdown Corner should unlock as your CBs will reach their third press win. This method worked much faster for me than trying to win the press myself, and I was able to obtain the achievement in the first quarter of the first game I played. I wasn't using any special rosters, or even the best team available when I got the achievement.

I used this strategy and got the achievement in the first quarter of the first game, controlling a lineman the entire time.

I had problems with this, but then I switched my 2nd controller to All-Madden. Made it easier for my Rookie CBs to press them.

Perfect, popped after 3 plays. Also put my 2nd controller on All Madden as Sashamorning suggested.

can this be done with one controller against the CPU?

The achievement? Yes. This method? No. Maybe eventually if you're lucky but CPU isn't going to always pick the route you need.

I did manage to do it vs the CPU in a game with 1 minute quarters. Took 3-4 games during my Full Set grind. Just make sure you score as quick as possible so that the CPU runs as many plays as possible, and then hope you get lucky and get enough of the right plays.

Still, +1 for knowing I didn't have to do it manually!

Hilariously, I was attempting this and I know I had one successful press. On my 2nd press, the WR I pressed caught the ball and then the achievement popped. I take that as the CPU had pressed a different receiver and unlocked it for me. So if you are having trouble, my advice would be to just play a longer game and use the play above, eventually, it will unlock.

For some reason I can’t get the right stick icon to show up over my head. Any suggestions?

"Then, before you snap, hit Y and do L(down) which should chose a coverage adjustment with 'Press'". Third paragraph, right after choosing the formation. The point of this solution is that you're not doing the actual press, the computer does it for you. You don't need to actually control the CB at all.

Are you waiting for the LB receiver get tackled by the cornerback BEFORE you throw it to him?

This sounds harder than it actually is. The previous solution is a little confusing, so I figured I'd share how I did it in the form of my own solution.

Start a game with 5 minute quarters to give yourself plenty of time if you struggle with it at first. I played as the Eagles against the Chiefs. Set difficulty to rookie. When on defense, use the "Man Defense" concept and pick any play with the word "press" in the name. Press down on the D-Pad to zoom out enough so you can see your cornerback the entire time. Select your team's #1 cornerback and walk right up to the line of scrimmage across from the WR that he is matched up with on the play. You should see the "RS" indicator above your player.

As soon as the ball is snapped, press down on the right stick to jam the WR at the line. If you do this correctly, it should look like the defender is blocking the receiver. If it is a run play, you won't get credit for a successful press. It will only be considered successful if you jam the WR at the line and the QB does not complete a pass to that WR on that play.

Once you successfully jam the WR 3 times, the achievement will pop a few seconds after the play. Hope this helps!
