You can earn this by buying something super cheap with "buy now" in the MUT store. Even though you haven't bid, it still counts as winning the auction.
Auction house doesn't open until MUT Level 7 this year. After doing all 7 pre-season solo challenges and 2/4 Regular season Team 1 challenges (Bengals in my case) I had Level 7 and 5,000 coins.

Very poor explanation.
The purchase must be made under "Auctions and Trades", not just in the MUT Store.

To unlock the Negotiator trophy in Madden NFL 19, you will first need to progress to MUT level 7. This won't take too long, as you can reach MUT level 7 by completing the early solo challenges.
Once you reach MUT Level 7, you will unlock the ability to use the auction house. Buy something cheap from the auction house (Buy Now works as well as bidding), and the trophy will unlock.
