How to unlock the Big Spender achievement in Madden NFL 20 - Definitive Guide

You can combine this with the legacy achievements if you like. My walkthrough for it is included in the linked achievement.
The Tom Brady Legacy Award achievement in Madden NFL 20 worth 260 pointsUsing a created player, coach or owner - surpass a Legacy Score of 32,000.
Download my "49ERSLEGACY2" roster from the community files section of the settings menu, then load it up in the share & manage files section of the settings menu. Then start a cloud franchise.
If you do want the 8 legacy achievements as well (and 1 misc. achievement), follow the link first. Thereafter, be sure to then go to league settings in the Franchise menu, and change your Season Experience setting back to Full Control. Also ensure that salary cap is turned off if you didn't do the legacy achievements first. Then simulate to the nearest off-season.
At this point, simulate forward another week. Then, go to My Team from the franchise menu, select a 90+ rated player, and release him. After that, simulate forward another week .
Now, go to Free Agents. In the Top 100, the guy you just released should be at the top. Check to see if another team has bid for them (this is why we simulated forward another week). If they have, give him a very lucrative, attractive deal (you can't go too OTT or you'll get a prompt saying that the player can't be paid that high). Simulate forward another week again, and if they accepted you should unlock the achievement. If not, it means you didn't offer them enough money, so just try again (cloud franchise is very fast to set up, so shouldn't take you long).

So I've tried this 4-5 times now, and the released players never show up in the Free Agents section, even if I release more than 5 at once.
Hmm, OK, figured it out, it's the sign free agent section of the "Things to do" menu, not the one under "Team".

Really struggling with this one. When I release the players they go to free agency. I skip a week they either disperse or appear back on my roster. I checked the negotiate area and when they appear there I can negotiate but can’t seem to get into a bidding war or show any signs of one

I had better luck with your team than the other solution but had to do additional steps. I had to go in to negotiations and refuse each negotiation by pressing 
and yes after. I then had to sim to off season and then finally I was able to "Sign free agents" on the things to do screen and could place bids. There were a good 10 people to pick from so I put a bid on each and popped it.
I want to note that the part is the only difference that I did from 3 other seasons/franchises where I tried week by week to get it to even ask me to sign free agents. This worked, so if you are having no luck try adding that to your attempt.

For Big Spender, I had to sim another week after I gave an offer so that the achievement could pop
