How to unlock the Head-to-Head achievement in Madden NFL 23 - Definitive Guide

I can confirm Clutch Rino’s guide from last year still works as I followed it to the letter and just popped the achievement. Copied over from last year below:

***SOLO METHOD***

This achievement is very buggy just like winning the super bowl but there’s an easy way to do this by yourself.


1.Start a Cloud Franchise with a 99 OVR team (I downloaded Cheevo Guides 49ers team)
2.Play first preseason game. Should be the Cheifs. Invite backup account to league.
3. Switch Profiles and have the backup accept the league invite
4. Once the back up is in, toggle Autopilot for that time to unlimited
5. Played the preseason game and play kickoff and one down(2 just to be safe)
Super Sim'd to the end of the game.
6.Return to League menu.
7.Go to Xbox Home Screen and fully quit the game
8.Go back into franchise mode and achievement will pop

Edit - Just to clarify, make sure you check who your opponent will be in preseason week 1 and add your backup account to that team…

Just used this guide for the Xbox One version and worked perfectly. Will be using it again for the Series X|S version once I finished this version up. Simple, yet effective!

If some people are having trouble with this achievement, this is what I did. I played 1 preseason game with my second profile. Then I backed out to my regular profile. Simulated to week 1 regular season and played against my second profile. Followed rest of solo method step 6 and down.

worked perfectly, achievement popped as soon as i reloaded the franchise

I did everything except #2, I just selected starting point as the regular season when I created the league. Achievement popped for me after the last step.
