How to unlock the Ol' Reliable achievement in Madden NFL 23 - Definitive Guide
I found the fastest way to level up your avatar in face of the franchise is to spam the first preseason game. Just play it, retire your character and make a new one. Rinse and repeat. This way, you can abuse the simulation and quickly get end of match 200+ rep bonuses. I like this method better than playing those full games because it makes your TD/INT's more valuable. If you get more than 1 TD/INT in a game, your rep bonus is severely slashed. For example, you might only get +10 rep for a second TD.
The majority of your time will be spent on the various menus, loading screens and that fucking opening phone call :/ I seriously fucking hate that goddamn phone call.
Gameplay Settings
There's only one setting to change. Bump the quarter lengths down from 6 mins to 1 min.
Team Selection
It doesn't really matter. I always was on the bears cuz I spammed through the team selector menu.
Pre-Game Setup
-I always skip out on the side activities because I don't think it maximizes your time. By the time you spam through all those prompts and even simulate the training, you only get +25 rep.
The weekly goal though is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. For the WR Challenge, you want to select the 'Hard' Challenge of getting a receiving TD.
Gameplay
Go to 'Play Types' then go to 'Standard Passes'. From the 'Standard Passes' plays, select TE Attack. This will send you on a streak route. Now when the ball is hiked, just run straight and press 'A' to call for the ball. It is important that you don't wait too long to call for the ball because the QB may pass it to another dude or just take off and scramble. I found that waiting for about 2 seconds to call for the ball worked most of the time. When the pass is coming toward you, hold 'X' to do an Aggro catch which will help you continue running after the catch.
U usually won't get tackled before getting a TD, but if you are, just call a timeout and do the same thing.
Sometimes you will have to go out on the field for a second possession if you scored your TD too quickly. In this case, just spam run plays with chew clock to just burn through time. There's little point to get more TD's as you'll only get like 15 rep for them now.
Player Progression
Set your player build to Agile and just invest your points into catching and spec catching. For traits, pick ones that will help you catch deep basses and speed.
Results
If you are able to get a touchdown within the first quarter of the preseason game, you will get 750-1000 rep per game. This took me about 4-5 min each cycle of retiring and remaking a new character. In total, I probably didn't get a TD only twice. These were at the very start when my player character had shit stats, but once you get your bonuses and stat boosts, you'll always get TD's.

How many hours did you have to do this for??

+1 for a great method. Thanks for sharing!
I usually played the second game as well if the weekly objective was easy. It's quick to do since you only play the first half and auto sim the rest. Only downside is that there's yet another effing cutscene to sit through once you get to lv10 and beyond.
@NoHeroes94
~60h total
10h for WR, QB, HB
15h for CB, LB
On defense I couldn't get sacks reliably, the AI QB would always throw it. I ended up picking the medium tier objective for 100rep.
