This trophy is titled "Cave Raider Investigator-in-Training" and it requires you to scan any monster with the Monocular device.
This trophy is easier to obtain in HELLO ABYSS mode over the DEEP IN ABYSS mode. The main reason is because in Hello Abyss, you have a Monocular at the start. In Deep in Abyss, you don't and you will need to purchase one for 3,000g from the Caravan Fleet. That requires you to find relics in the Abyss and sell them. It's mainly just a factor of time.
Once in the Abyss, and with a Monocular device in your inventory, press and hold L2 to bring up the reticule for your gear. Select the Monocular and then Press L2 to look through it. Find a monster and get somewhat close to it, but not close enough that it looks at you and attacks. Center the monster and it should highlight blue while a yellow progress bar fills up below it. Once it's done, a little information window appears and the trophy will unlock.
