Okay, so for this all I did was complete the game on Normal (just to get some of the miscellaneous achievements out of the way), then once I completed the game I selected NEW GAME, HARD DIFFICULTY, then I selected the SAVED DATA 100% slot and hit "OVERWRITE DATA" and just by completing that few minute ending again you'll then be awarded the Lived to tell the tale achievement! Without having to complete the entire game on hard, Congrats :)
