There are 4 different types of Pulp magazines and they are the following:

Dime Detective Magazines
Black Mask Magazine
Super Science Stories Magazine
Terror Tales Magazine

Below are notes on where you can find all of these magazines, they have been split up into their own corresponding magazine category. I've put them in spoiler tags to make it easier to read if you want to focus on certain magazines.

Dime Detective Magazines

Chapter 3: Molotov Party
00:10 - Death Wears Red Heels - This can be found in the room where you talk to Vincenzo, it’s behind the desk.

Chapter 4: Ordinary Routine
00:45 - Hayseed Homicide – This is in the Motel area, before going inside go behind the building and the magazine will be on the planks of wood.

Chapter 5: Fair Play
01:01 - Death Blows out of Candles – After you’ve won the race walk forward a little bit and turn left. Follow the path down all the way to the end to find the magazine.

Chapter 7: Better Get Used to it
01:19 - Happy Murder to You! – After reaching Chinatown you will go to Biffs’ shop, just on your way out on your right the collectible will be on the table.

Chapter 8: The Saint and the Sinner
01:32 - Mexican Slayride – Once you’re inside the Corleone Hotel stick to the ground floor from the main entrance, follow the right-side path to get to the other side of the counter. The magazine will be in the room just past this.

02:16 - The Lady’s from Hades – After escaping the police you will need to use a ladder to cross a gap. Just before this turn around to find the magazine on the white table.

02:30 - Live and Let Die – Once you’re inside the church you will engage with some enemies. The magazine will be on your right on the counter from where you spawn.

Chapter 9: A trip to the country
02:46 - Weather Fair Track Bloody – After investigating the truck you will get ambushed, eliminate the enemies and move forward a little bit until you see a large tree. Go into the big barn that’s directly behind the big tree and in the back room you can find the collectible.

Chapter 10: Omerta
03:03 - Death Gives a Permanent Wave – At the start of the chapter you will need to speak to Vincenzo, the magazine will be on a crate on the right side of the building.

Chapter 11: Visiting Rich People
03:34 - You’re the Crime in my Coffee – Once you’ve made your way inside the mansion after eliminating the enemies outside. Stick to the ground floor and on the left side of the house you can find the magazine on a trolley.

Chapter 12: Great Deal
03:49 - Post-Mortem at Pimlico – After you’ve engaged with a lot of enemies in the car park. Just before speaking to Sam, go into the small room that’s by the entrance to get the magazine.

Chapter 14: Happy Birthday
04:04 - Please Pass the Poison – Once you’ve made your way to the docking area of the boat, stick to the left side until you see a small set of stairs. Go up here to find the magazine.

04:21 - You Can Die Any Day – Once you’ve made your way to the top section of the boat, just after opening the last door the magazine can be found on your left on a crate.

Chapter 15: You Lucky Bastard
04:38 - A Horse of Another Killer – Towards the start of the chapter you will go to a café and get ambushed, once here eliminate the enemies. The magazine can be found on one of the tables in the room you are in.

Chapter 16: Crème de la Crème
05:11 - Tin-Pan Alibi – You will chase Morello to an airport, eventually he will retreat inside a big hanger. Just before opening it you can find the magazine on the crate directly in front of it.

Chapter 17: Election Campaign
05:23 - The Corpse That Wasn’t There – Make your way through the prison until you have to go up two sets of red stairs. Go all the way up and on the left side you can find a leaver, pull this and it will open all the jail cells. On the right side the magazine will be in one of the small rooms.

06:03 - Sealed with a Kris – In the same area from where you just were, you need to jump on a small wall and pull another leaver to open the next section. Follow the path along until you see a room on your left. In here you can find the next magazine on the wooden furniture.

Chapter 18: Just For Relaxation
06:27 - Feather Your Coffin – After making your way inside the warehouse, the magazine can be found in the small room that’s on the upper floor, it’s the same floor from where you entered the warehouse.

Chapter 19: Moonlighting
06:52 - Let The Skeletons Rattle – Once you’re in the bank go up the left set of stairs. In the room on the left side you can find the magazine.

Chapter 20: The Death of Art
07:11 - Watch Me Kill You! – The magazine can be found in the front room on the table of your house.

Black Mask Magazines

All of the Black Mask Magazines can be gotten in the free ride portion of the game. Free ride is unlocked after completing a chapter in the story.

00:10 - Red Jade – This is found in the Beech Hill area, it’s directly north of the letter B in Beech. Look for the little grey area that’s up the road. Here you will find a few benches. The magazine will be by the rubbish bin.

00:25 - Flaming Angel – This can be found in the Oakwood area of the map, it’s inside the City Cemetery. When entering the cemetery, stick to the left sided path and the magazine will be on your right next to a bench. It will be on the first “C” of Cemetery.

00:51 - The Farewell Murder – This can be found in the Oakwood area, it’s in the top right corner just before the squiggly road starts. It’s in the garden of the house that has a gazebo.

01:08 - Walking Dynamite – This can be found in the South-West direction of Oakwood. It’s behind the dinner building that’s north of the word “SAINT” that’s displayed in the river on the map. Follow the stairs down to get the magazine, it will be on the floor next to some benches.

01:34 - Hunch – This can be found in the Holbrook area of the map. It’s directly north-west of the letter “H” in Holbrook. There’s a sign that says “Trago Lubricating Motor Fuel”, it’s just past the catch fence.

01:51 - Stag Party – This can be found in the Holbrook area of the map. It’s on the east side of the Lawson stadium. Go up the ramp to walk around the perimeter to get the magazine.

02:12 - A Woman can kill – This can be found in the North Park area of the map. It’s in the alleyway that goes between Pepe’s Restaurant on the map. The magazine will be in the middle bit where the trees are.

02:31 - Race Williams Never Bluffs – This can be found in the Downtown area of the map. It’s directly behind the St Michael’s Church beneath the scaffolding.

02:45 - Red Death – This can be found in the Downtown area of the map. It’s literally west of where you got the Race Williams Never Buff magazine. It’s down the stairs that lead into the alleyway. It’s directly east of the words “The Waterfront” on the map.

03:02 - The Deal – This can be found in the Central Island area of the map. It’s directly north of the Moulton’s City Theatre, just go past the bridge and you’ll see an orange ramp. Here you will see an outdoor seating area. The magazine is on the floor.

03:16 - Race Williams in Six Have Died – This is in the Central Island area, it’s directly west of the Moulton’s City Theatre across the road. It’s right by a newspaper stand.

03:31 - No Hard Feelings – Central Island area, it’s in the entrance of the Moulton’s City Theatre. It’s next to the flowers and benches.

03:44 - Death By Appointment – Central Island south direction, go to the Lost Heaven Art Gallery. The magazine is next to the statue that’s above the word “Gallery” on the map.

03:59 - Soft City – Works Quarter south direction, head to the Harbour area and you will see a gate with Lost Haven Harbour on it. Along the road is the magazine inside a telephone booth.

04:14 - A New Story pf MacBride of Richmond City – Works Quarter south west direction, head to the Federal Customs Impound. It will be on your right in the alleyway amongst the crates.

04:31 - Murder Goes to Market – Little Italy, directly east of Salieri’s Bar along the road you will see a street market. The magazine is next to one of the food stands.

04:51 - The Flame – Little Italy, it’s in the alleyway that’s directly south of the letters “LY” in Italy by a fence.

05:12 - Save Your Tears – Robinson Park, it’s in the park that’s directly south of Terranova Bridge. Go to the east side of the park and the magazine will be next to a rubbish bin.

05:34 - A Crashing G Man – Autodrome west side of Little Italy, go to the entrance of the circuit. It’s on the left side of the entrance on the floor.

05:50 - The Scarlet Fox – Two Hatch Pond, directly south of the Hatch Pond, it’s in the grey section in between the two buildings on the floor.

Super Science Stories Magazines

Most of these magazines can be gotten in the free ride portion of the game. However, we will be covering the one’s that can be found in the story first by order of chapter.

Chapter 7: Better Get Used to it
00:10 - The Brain Beast – This is in the area where you have to clear the yard. Just after this you will go through a gate and turn left. Before going down the stairs you can find the magazine on the settee.

Chapter 10: Omerta
00:29 - Aerita of the Light Country – When you get to the Airport you will need to sneak your way inside, stick to the left side of the building to get inside. Once inside you will see a man walking away from you, follow him to the canteen area where you can find the magazine.

Chapter 11: Visiting Rich People
01:17 - Prisoner of Time – This magazine can be found on one of the sunbeds literally right before you go inside the mansion.

Chapter 13: Bon Appetit
01:37 - Half-Past Eternity – You will go to Pepe’s Restaurant and get ambushed, once here go into the kitchen on the left side from where you spawn to find the magazine.

Chapter 14: Happy Birthday
02:01 - Tumithak of Towers of Fire - Just after you get on the boat speak to the two people and make your way down the stairs. Once down there turn around and turn left, then go into the kitchen on the left side to find the magazine.

Chapter 18: Just For Relaxation
02:41 - Invisible One – After you make your way into the 2nd large warehouse you will see a bunch of enemies on the catwalk on your left. Go into the room across from where you are to find the magazine.

Chapter 20: The Death of Art
03:14 - Legion of the Dark – Make your way through the Art Gallery until you get to the green and orange rooms that have paintings and furniture in them. Just after this you can find the magazine. It’s literally right before the door you have to kick down.

The next set of magazines can all be found in the free ride section of the game, be sure to pick this from the main menu.

03:32 - The Death Crystal – This can be found south of Beech Hope by the Beech Hope Lighthouse. Follow the path down and you will see some benches, the magazine will be just by there.

03:49 - Minus Dancer! – This can be found by the warehouse that’s north of Holbrook. The magazine on the left side down the small alleyway by the fence.

04:12 - The Black Sun Rises – This can be found in the North Park area, go north of the letter “P” for one block. Here you will see a sign called “Storage Warehouse Company” the magazine will be in the entrance.

04:33 - The Wicked People – This is in the Downtown area of the map, go to the letter “D” and you’ll see a car park. Go to the upper level to get the magazine.

04:52 - Genus Homo – This can be found in the Central Island area, by the West River Tunnel. Follow the road around to get on top the tunnel. Once here you will see some benches, on one of them will be the magazine.

05:08 - Cepheid Planet – This is on the Central Island it’s directly west of the East River words on the map. Here you will see a small building. Go to the area where the small boats to find the magazine.

05:23 - Outcast of the Stars – This is on the Central Island, go to St Peter’s Docks. Once here you will find some tables and chairs, go left of that onto the wooden structure to find the magazine.by

05:49 - Day of Comet – This is found in the little Italy area, it’s in the garage by Salieri’s Bar from the story.

06:10 - Mission Unknown – This is found on the east side of Chinatown, look for a building that’s the shape of a J on the map. When here you will see some barrels of hay, on the right side you can find the magazine next to the toilet.

06:34 - Collision Course – This is found on the west side of Chinatown, it’s directly south of Robinson Park on the smaller island. Go to the south east side of the island to find the magazine on the floor.

06:49 - We Guard the Black Planet! – This can be found just south of Heaven’s Peak in the place called Overlook. Go up the tower to get the magazine.

07:26 - Cham of the Hills – This can be found just south of Lake Fyer, it’s in the North County Marina. Once here you will see a wooden building, go there to get the magazine next to some crates.

07:42 - The Earth Killers – This can be found east of Berry Wood Creek, it’s down the road next to the 4 small buildings. Once here you will see a sign called “Welcome to the Gentlemen’s Club”. The magazine can be found under the gazebo.

Terror Tales Magazine Locations

Five of these magazines can be gotten in different parts of the story, the rest can be gotten in the free ride portion of the game. We will be covering the story magazines first.

Chapter 9: A trip to the Country
00:10 - All These Must Die – When you are defending Sam, clear out the first set of enemies. Before speaking to Sam go downstairs to pickup the magazine on a crate.

Chapter 10: Omerta
00:27 - Mistress of the Dark – You will have to object find Little Tony and will go into a café. Inside the café the magazine can be found on the bar counter.

Chapter 12: Great Deal
00:51 – The magazine can be found in the room where you turn the valve to stop the fire from spreading. It’s on the work bench inside.

Chapter 17: Election Campaign
01:08 – The magazine is in the area after you wake up from falling. Head down the corridor for a little bit. On your left you’ll see a small room with some lights on, go in here to find the magazine.

Chapter 20: The Death of Art
01:30 – Eventually whilst chasing Sam you’ll go to a corridor that has lots of wooden furniture and some statues. Just past this you’ll turn left, the magazine will be on the desk in the corner.

The next set of magazines can be found in the Free Ride section of the game, be sure to pick this from the main menu.

01:52 – Satan’s Love Bazzar – Go to the Beech Hill area of the map, it’s by the gate of the mansion that’s directly north east of the letter “L” in Hill.

02:16 – Bridges For The Swamp God – Can be found by the front entrance of the Oakwood Church in the Oakwood area on the map.

02:37 – Slaves for the Wine Goddess – This is directly north west of the letter “O” in Oakwood. It’s across the street in the alleyway.

02:53 – Mistress of Satan’s Hounds – Go to the Holbrook area, the magazine is directly south of the letter “B” in Holbrook. You will see a sign that says, “Finest Products Supplies Company”. It will be inside the small shed.

03:13 – Thirst of Damned – Go to the Holbrook Park in Holbrook, the magazine is directly south of the letter “B” in Holbrook Park. It will be on the chair that’s next to a small fire.

03:34 – When Love Wen Mad! – The magazine can be found in the docking area that’s the shape of an L. It’s directly north of the letter “G” in Giuliani Bridge (Central Island).

04:05 – Crawling Madness – The magazine is in the Works Quarters area, it directly south of the letter “W” in Works by the water. It will be inside a fenced area on top some wooden planks.

04:28 – Birds of the Serpent – South West of Central Rail Station in Works Quarters area. You will see a sign that says “Swift Cola When You Need A Lift”. Turn around from there and run down the alleyway, the magazine will be behind the wooden fence.

04:51 – House of Living Death – The magazine is in the docking area that’s west of the letter “W” in West River on the map. Run all the way out onto the wooden platform to get it.

05:20 – Brides For The Damned – Go to the Chinatown area of the map. The magazine can be found in between the letters “OW” of Chinatown in the alleyway on the floor.

05:41 – The Dolls of Doom – Can be found by the small three houses that’s just west of Heaven’s Peak. It’s the one that the most furthest away.

06:04 – Go to the Lake Fyer Dam area on the map. The magazine will be behind the first house that you encounter along the road in the fishing area.

06:26 – The Man Who Loved a Zombie – Go to the top of the Fyer Lake Dam by driving along it. Once here you will see a small wooden house, the magazine can be found on the decking.

06:42 – Hell’s Station Master – The magazine can be found in the fishing area of the small lake that’s just east of the Old Ford Bridge. The lake is called Berry Wood Creek.

07:10 – Hostess For the Dying – Follow the road down from Berry Wood Creek until you see a boarded up church on your left side. The magazine will be behind the church on a Well. This is just before the two roads merge again.

These guides would be great if whoever wrote them got the directions right! saying magazines are got from the east of chinatown but are on the west side doesn't make for a good guide!

I don't know if this is a recent issue with the game or if it's just me but none of the collectable achievements beyond the one for the cars have unlocked

Got all the pulp magazines.. but the achievement doesnt pop.. but the whole story achievement unlocked.. had to close the game and started the game back up and the whole story unlocked on free ride

This is definitely glitched. Got whole story but not this or the mystery fox achievements even though I've collected them all for both.

This one is also glitched for me. After collecting the last black mask magazine, nothing popped up. I finished the mission and went to free ride and the whole story achievement popped up but not lending library... seems like I have to do them all again....

Mafia Definitive Edition has a total of 172 collectibles - 50 Mystery Foxes, 22 Cigarette Cards, 20 Dime Detectives, 20 Black Masks, 20 Super Science Stories, 20 Terror Tales, 10 Gangsters Monthly, 5 Post Cards and 5 Hidden Cars

You need all of them for various achievements. Fortunately, none of them can be missed. There are two types of collectibles, story and free roam collectibles. Story collectibles only spawn and collectable during the story.

These collectibles can you pick up every time via chapter select. All collectibles are immediately saved. Free roam collectibles are of course available in Free roam which is called Free Ride and in the story too! This mode unlock after chapter 2 or 3.

In the story you can also find a lot of available free roam collectibles close to the story. If you follow my story video, you will have collected 81 of the 172 collectibles at the end. The remaining 91 collectibles are in the seperate free roam video guide.

There are 80 pulp magazines, 20 of each type: Black Mask, Dime Detective, Super Science, and Terror Tale. For each type, some can only be found during the story and some can be found in Free Ride. When you're close to one, there will be an icon on your mini map.

Black Mask - All twenty can be found in Free Ride.
Dime Detective - Nineteen are found during the story and one can be found in Free Ride.
Super Science - Thirteen can be found in Free Ride and seven are found in the story.
Terror Tales - Fifteen can be found in Free Ride and five are found during the story.

20 Black Mask - There are 7 found in the story chapters and 13 in ‘Free Ride’ mode
20 Super Science Stories - There are 10 found in the story chapters and 10 in ‘Free Ride’ mode
20 Terror Tales - There are 6 found in the story chapters and 14 in ‘Free Ride’ mode

The trophy is glitchy. Through the chapters I collected all the magazines that I missed and the trophy did not fall out. Although statistics say that everything is 100% collected. I don’t know what the treatment is.
Update. The trophy appeared right in the menu as soon as I restarted the game after a while.

I collected everything from a cheap magazine. Didn't receive the prize. Probably the game is also buggy

The trophy is not buggy, it’s just a mistake in the description, you need to collect not only cheap magazines but also everything else, there are 80 of them, once you collect them you will get the trophy
