How to unlock the Dream Handling achievement in Mafia II - Definitive Guide

This is a good video showing how to get the achievement along with the Tuned Ride achievement.

The advanced upgrade is not available until chapter 7.

I would have prefered to just read some text over having to watch a video

The description of this trophy is misleading. Though there are three levels of tuning available for cars (Basic, Sports and Super Charge) you only have to upgrade to Sports tuning to get this trophy. It becomes available in Chapter 7 and costs around $800-1000 depending on the car you're upgrading.

It took me about $2000 to get this trophy. This is not a large amount, you will have enough money, don’t worry.

If you don’t have this amount (which I highly doubt because you can earn enough money there), then go to Brucie and drive cars to him (you can drive 5 in a row). We arrived and drove the car in which we actually arrived. Then there will be 1-2 cars standing nearby (well, 1 will definitely be standing), you drive them in. Run to the road, steal the first car you come across, take it to Brucie and there you again see a car nearby. Actually, using this method you can easily drive 5 cars, which will give a total of 2000 (1 car = 400$+-)

It's simple, if you have upgraded your Jefferson Provincial to level 1, then you need to bring it closer. $650 to complete this achievement. We crush two cars at Mike Bruschi's junkyard and we're done. You go into the garage and simply tune the engine to level 2.

I only needed $1,000 for the Jefferson 42. The first part of the upgrade is done before prison, the second after. Or both after prison. The fact is that the second part of leveling is available only after prison.
