In total there are around nineteen Racket Informants in the game. The very first Informant you encounter is scripted to be knocked out, but from then on you will have the choice on whether to kill or recruit Informants. Please see below for the list of Informants per mission.

• 1 Informant during "Moonshine"
• 1 Informant during "Protection"
• 2 Informants during "Blackmail"
• 1 Informant during "Construction"
• 1 Informant during "Garbage"

• 2 Informants during "Sex"
• 2 Informants during "Drugs"
• 1 Informant during "PCP"
• 2 Informants during "Southern Union"
• 1 Informant during "Black Market"
• 1 Informant during "Gambling"

When working on Racket missions, one of the first objectives will usually be to track down and interrogate the Informant(s) for additional information on how to sabotage the Racket. It's up to you how to approach the Informant; that is, stealthily or by killing everyone who gets in your way. Regardless of your approach, once you've cornered an Informant you can begin interrogating them by holding . Lincoln will get them to speak and you can then choose to kill them () or recruit them ().

Since there are a limited number of Informants in the game, "Live Another Day" and "Can't Trust a Rat" cannot be done in the same playthrough. Thus, depending on how you deal with the Informant during the Racket mission entitled "Smack," you will need to remain consistent with that decisions during your entire playthrough. So if you recruit him, you'll want to recruit every other Racket Informant moving forward; if you kill him, you'll want to kill every Racket Informant you interrogate.
