How to unlock the Seasoned Fighter achievement in Magic Duels - Definitive Guide

To do this achievement, you first have to make sure to own the mythic rare card Kytheon, Hero of Akros. It is a white creature costing one white mana to cast. Kytheons card reads that you can give it indestructible until end of turn (quite handy) and if you attack with Kytheon and at least 2 other creatures you flip it over at the end of combat if it survives (due to being indestructible most likely)

After Kytheon survives combat, it flips over into being the planeswalker Gideon, Battle-Forged. Gideon has 3 abilities.

+2: Up to one target creature an opponent controls attacks Gideon during its controller's next turn if able.
+1: Until your next turn, target creature gains indestructible. Untap that creature.
0: Until end of turn, Gideon becomes a 4/4 human soldier creature with indestructable. Prevent all damage dealt to him.

You are going to want to turn Gideo into a 4/4 and attack 3 times. It does not matter if he is blocked or not. Just dealing 4 damage to players/creatures/planeswalkers will do the trick.

This just showed that I completed it on the rewards screen in game but then never gave me the achievement towards my gamerscore. I tried again to see if doing it twice would help. The second time it didn't even give me it on the rewards screen.

Contacted wizard support and they said there's nothing they can do it's on xbox lives side.

Just going to add you'll probably want to make sure you've got some other creatures down on the board if you're playing AI - they love targeting planeswalker cards with everything they have. I actually lost Gideon a few times before I could do enough damage with him.

I just did over 20 damage with him during a game and got no achievement and no completion in game. Perhaps the buffs that I put on him had something to do with it?

worked for me great make sure you're using the correct gideon as seen in the illustration in the solution. added note I didn't notice... it doesn't have to be player damage. damage to creates works

To cast Gideon, you first need to cast "Kytheon, Hero of Akros", then attack with him and other two creatures in the same turn and he will transform into "Gideon, Battle-Forged" (It's recommended to use his ability that make him undestructible to ensure that he survive the block step). After that, every turn possible have him activate his third ability (cost 0 loyal counters) to make him a 4/4 creature and do damage with him until you deal 12 points in a single duel. 

Best way to do this is on a Versus match against the AI in easy difficulty.

Note: First, you need to unlock Kytheon by buying booster packs.
