How to unlock the Everything at Stake achievement in Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers - Definitive Guide
Just a quick note to the above solutions regarding the strategy fighting Sorin Markov.
I tried different decks and strategy's while fighting Sorin including White, Black, Elves, Claws of Vengeance and the dragon deck (forgot the name), but the deck that is probably the most useful is the new mono red deck.
It consist of mostly spell (instant & sorcery) cards (seriously, go check it out!), so whenever Sorin plays a monster card you just use a spell card to counter that. On my first try with this deck I completely steamrolled him by just using spell cards and one monster card. Give the new mono red deck a try if your struggling with Sorin Markov!
Edit
To clarify: I won with just a 'clean' deck, no extra cards unlocked. (Thanks to G0RILLA FINGER)

Okay, I've tried a few different decks against Sorin, none of which are completely opened. One issue that I'm seeing with the majority of these suggestions is using the new Mono Red deck.
I've not played in a while, so maybe I'm missing something. When I went looking for Chandra's new deck, I found it at least one level (maybe two, memory's not what it used to be) AFTER the first battle with Sorin.
Am I just sucking, and need to keep hammering away at it? Or are you talking about a different new Mono Red deck?
Thanks!

Even if you have none of the extra cards unlocked for the Heat of Battle deck, try it. I played Markov probably like 5-6 times using other decks and I got it on my first try using the new red deck.

Markov's deck can be tough. A low mana curve makes his side of the battlefield beastly before you can really get started. He also has a few "win now" cards that might as well restart the game for you.
Play it on the easiest difficulty if you'd like.
I used the Claws of Vengeance deck (white/red/green), and Wrath of God (followed by a couple Bull Ceredons) was invaluable. I imagine the mono-white deck would work well also for that reason, not to mention the flying Walls. But seriously, you're almost depending on a Wrath of God.
You may just wanna keep trying until you get lucky and Markov droughts and can no longer keep up with you.
Good luck!

I'm not sure why this site says I don't have this achievement...

Agreed, this guy is a pain in the ass, BUT, lol I beat him pretty easily (meaning in 5-10 tries) with the fully unlocked Mind Of Void deck, my favorite deck in the whole game for one reason: it has spells that make your opponent discard there decks, I mean I must have erased like half this guy's deck from discard spells alone, this deck also has the persuasion card which lets you use his creatures against him....invaluble (: as well as Denizen of the Deep (an 11/11 creature)
This guy is one tough cookie he almost always draws hes vampire that cost one black to play and it becomes a pain. I did this over 26 times and finally did it with the new chandra red deck, you have to use this deck or any deck that kills or destroys his creatures fast that is why i suggest red and always save a destroy card or damage card becuase he will pull something big out his ass i can promise you this. Just stay at it. hope this helps.
Sorin's final deck is very aggressive consisting of several quick drop vampires which benefit greatly from Vampire Nocturnus. Aside from setting the difficulty to Mage (easy), having a good opening hand also helps so don't be afraid to mulligan or restart a lot if needed. The two decks I recommended you use would be Ears of the Elves and Heat of Battle, though use any deck you feel comfortable with.
