A 'Hat Trick' is awarded for destroying three fairy bricks in a row without breaking any other bricks in-between.
In levels 3-1 thru 3-6 (Artifacts Room), the shrink brick is introduced. While shrunk, it will take two hits to destroy any given block. This mean that you will have to hit fairy blocks twice as many times to get your Hat Trick.
Keeping in mind that you can restart levels to alter the layout of certain bricks, you can restart until you get a cluster of fairy bricks in which a ball can easily ricochet around and destroy while shrunken.
