How to unlock the Bull in a China Shop achievement in Maid of Sker - Definitive Guide

If you don't want to get this naturally through gameplay just go into a safe room [Blue door room where you can save the game using a gramophone] and walk back and forth bumping into a chair or other piece of furniture.

Respect, people. Who cares if your experience differs from someone else's; we're just offering our own theories about cause and effect since we're not on the dev team and can only speculate. Also note that most games get patched on a regular basis, potentially creating differing experiences over time. My experience was this: at first I was "brushing up against" items as I passed them, at a low angle, with no results, but the higher the angle I took, I began hearing a faint thump, almost like something hitting a large wooden object. Finally I decided to just approach items like benches, sofas, desks, etc, perpendicularly and I would get the audible feedback every time. I never felt vibration in my controller when contacting these items regardless, so perhaps that was a change in the game. But I'm fairly sure that as long as you get that audio cue, it counts towards the achievement.

I really wish there was a way to track this, I'm at the end of my 1st playthrough and haven't unlocked it

There must be something im not doing right. I figured bumping into furniture would be pretty self explanatory but I've done this about 400 times and nothing.

The controller will vibrate when it counts a bump into a piece of furniture, no vibration, it didn't count. In one safe room I couldn't get a hit on the couch to count as a bump, but I stood in a corner and walked into a bookshelf over and over, and it worked.

I disagree about the vibration being necessary. After completing the game, I reloaded my last save and started walking into things. I have vibration on in the settings, but I wasn't getting any vibration or other feedback that I was bumping; I just came to a gentle stop every time I "hit" something. After about a hundred of those, the achievement unlocked. I say that the above commenter's non-vibration bumps counted and he just needed more to reach 250.

I didn't want to agree but i DO agree the vibration is an indication you hit something. I was bumping into things not sure if I was making progress and then I ran back and forth (using run and left stick clicking EACH TIME) into two diagnolly accross from each other benches to the right of the stairwell in the manor ground floor when facing it.

You can probably use any (?) pieces of furniture but benches worked easily for me -probably about 2 or 3 minutes after trying.

I believe the vibration is when you bump into an object (furniture) hard enough to make a noise detectable to the bad men. I also agree that its how this achievement is tracked, I've neigh on finished this game and done countless playthroughs of it but this particular achievement only popped for me when I followed the tactic in the above comment.

Took under 5 mins of running into benches to unlock after that so thankyou!

Right, you didn't get the vibration, but the achievement unlocked nevertheless. The theory that the vibration is necessary has been disproven, both by you and by me. Offering your own experience is great, but throwing out a theory/conclusion that one's experience doesn't even warrant, and has been disproven by others, is not. We should be trying to arrive at accurate information here. Who cares about being accurate? Well, I do.

I believe this counts by the sound of the object that you hit. Chair, table, pots etc...... they all have different sounds i count off sounds im just over 200 now so will edit this comment if the cheevo pops.

Definitely don't need vibration. I finished the game 'Both endings' and then continued in the last save room and just walked back and forth into bookcases and sofas. I counted 77 times and it popped, so I obviously got the other 173 naturally as I played through the game. I felt no vibration or indication that I had bumped into something, so just trust it to register when you hit something. I clicked in left thumbstick to run into everything.

In the room near the start of the game with the hanging "bags" and the hole in the wall after the second call with Elizabeth may be a good spot for grinding this out of you wanted to get it out of the way

Thanks for everyone mentioning that objects that make a 'thud' sound when you bang into them are what count, I almost lost my mind doing this. I got it done on Xbox and PS4 just fine but I couldn't get this trophy to unlock on PS5 at all. Was trying 3 hours one night banging into everything in the hotel over and over, 2 hours another day and then I left my controller rubber banded in a small room to see if that would sort it out after a few hours. None of these worked.

After reading the comments about the noise you hear, I turned the in-game music off, volume up high, and found an object that consistently made a 'thud' sound. The one I used was the table to the right of the portrait that's in front of you when you first enter the hotel. I probably banged into this around 30-40 times and it finally unlocked. Thank you all. toast

I just gave the controller to my 4 year old and went to the bathroom and started making dinner. He had it done in no time.

The vibration is not necessary, period. Just because your 250th bump, which unlocked the achievement, had a vibration, doesn't prove it is necessary. If you unlocked the achievement after 5 minutes of causing vibrations, that pretty much proves it isn't necessary, because you surely didn't bump 250 times in under five minutes (1 every second). That proves all your previous non-vibration bumps counted also. This is simple logic.

I was in a hallway doing my bumps for a while, then I moved into a room with a fireplace. After less than five minutes of doing bumps in that room, the achievement unlocked. Does that prove you have to be in a room with a fireplace? No.
