When you complete the challenge, you get a score and a grade letter ranking. To get an A* rating, you need a score of 100,000. Each second you take counts against your score, and each kill you get counts toward it. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS - not even deaths. Dying often wastes time, so it is best to avoid it, but trust me. I was having an excellent run until Abraham killed me at the end. I respawned and continued, and still got the A*.

As best as I can tell, the rule of thumb is you need to get 4 kills per minute in order to get A*. I am apparently not as good at this as some people, and was having trouble with this until I got the idea of completing the first part of the first level (the attic and second floor) all the way to the point where I got the key and killed the four bags who spawn in the next room. At that point, I had 20 kills in just over 2 minutes. I restarted from checkpoint and played the game from the beginning again. That gave me the freedom to rush through some of the sections that can time-consuming if you're trying to get kills. I finished with 90 kills in under 20 minutes. If you're a pro and don't need this tip, then fine, but if you're like me and need a little boost, this will do it.
