How to unlock the Make Love, Not War achievement in Maid of Sker - Definitive Guide

Thankfully this one ain't too bad.
Play on The Long night challenge for obvious reasons.
All it requires is for you to have your axe out the whole time, have beaten the challenge once or twice so you know the layout and where to run, and only swing your axe when there's an enemy blocking you completely. For me happened about twice rest you can nudge your way past them if your running in the right direction.

Only pick up ammo thats in your path since you'll need it for the boss at the end.

IMPORTANT: Theres a total of 6 enemies that rush you in increments of 2 during the boss fight that you'll want to kill. So make you sure your kill count is 2 or 3 or 0 before heading in. Not 100% sure, but boss may count as a kill as well. You can check your stats in the pause menu at any given time.

Since your skipping most rooms and just running, should only take 10 mins.
There's plenty of health jars around as well, I never ran out when doing it. If you visited every room in previous runs you can make a detour and grab some health that your aware of. Hope this helps

Edit:MkMaster13 stated your run needs to end with 9 or less kills. Only way for that to happen is by having 2 kills or less when entering the boss. This is if you plan on killing the 6 enemies that spawn with him. OR you can just focus on boss if your kills are too high. The boss COUNTS as a kill as well.

Skrubits stated thats its totally possible to do the boss fight without killing his minions. So if your worried about your kill count going over by the time you get to the boss, don't be. A little extra running and an extra heal or 2 is all you'll need.

Thanks for the guide. I guess I found this harder than the solution writer did, but I used his approach. One thing I will add is that "Restart from Checkpoint" on the pause menu is useful. If you find your path blocked and you're fairly certain you're just going to get pummeled to death, quickly use Restart from Checkpoint. Note that any kills you accrue will not be reset, so this is not a good idea once you've started killing Isaac's minions at the end, but until that point, it can be very helpful. Also, when you start the first floor, there is sometimes a ghost between you and the model train set and a diver circling the train. If you restart from checkpoint, there's a good chance one or both won't be there, which helps if you want to grab some rifle ammo and tonic that are nearby.

Another observation is that about 2/3 through the basement, there is a narrow passage that the enemies do enter, and you will frequently encounter one (diver) there. Your only choices are to kill him or restart from checkpoint. For that reason, I recommend having only 0 or 1 kills before starting the basement.

Finally, the wording of the achievement description really bugs me. It should be "fewer than 10 kills," not "less than 10."

The boss counts as a kill according to the counter. I entered the boss room with 3 kills and finished with 10 kills with no achievement. So it seems it does indeed have to be under 10 kills. Entering the boss area with 2 kills or less should do it.

I wasn't paying attention during the final battle and died after killing the six enemies, BUT I was able to finish the fight on the next attempt without killing any of the enemies that spawned. It took four healing items and a lot of running.

Ok.. so not only did this not unlock, neither did the achievement for completing the challenge. Awesome. Glad I just wasted an hour of my time. Why add these kind of garbage challenges and achievements to a game like this?

So I did it again and they both unlocked. The first time was my initial playthrough of the challenge so I didn't know where to go, and I also was trying a different approach by sneaking past everything, which led me to get an F rank because of how long it took and so few kills. So MAYBE if you get an F it doesn't count as completing it? Who knows. Still a stupid addition.

I tried it the running way once I knew where to go and it was a lot easier once I knew where to go. So to anyone reading, play through it to figure out where to go and then just run through like the guide says.
