How to unlock the King of the Hill achievement in Major League Baseball 2K11 - Definitive Guide

The title update changed the list of players you have to beat in the Best of the Best. Below is the updated roster:

20. Vladimir Guerrero (BAL)
19. David Ortiz (BOS)
18. Troy Tulowitzki (COL)
17. Evan Longoria (TB)
16. Carlos Pena (CUBS)
--Able to change to above batters--
15. Josh Hamilton (TEX)
14. Mike Stanton (FLA)
13. Dan Uggla (ATL)
12. Curtis Granderson (NYY)
11. Joey Votto (CIN)
--Able to change to above batters--
10. Adrian Gonzales (BOS)
9. Mark Texieria (NYY)
8. Paul Konerko (CWS)
7. Ryan Howard (PHI)
6. Mark Reynolds (BAL)
--Able to change to above batters--
5. Miguel Cabrera (DET)
4. Prince Fielder (MIL)
3. Adam Dunn (CWS)
2. Jose Bautista (TOR)
1. Albert Pujols (STL)

The easiest way to do this is us Ahbooya61's strategy. Go to rosters and edit each of the above 20's stats down to 25, starting at Durability and ending at Eye vs. Righties (I also edited peak age down, though it's not necessary). While you're doing that, find a player you'd like and edit all of their stats up to 99. When you're finished, go into Difficulty Sliders and up all your batting sliders up to 100. Press LB to change to the CPU and edit all their sliders to 0.

Now you're ready to start the tournament. Under game modes, choose Home Run Derby and change it to Best of the Best. The first ten competitors will be lucky to get more than two home runs. After that, they'll average between 5-10 home runs (though there will be times where they get lucky and belt off upwards of 20) despite their lowered stats. If they get lucky and beat you, just keep retrying. No one should give you that much of a challenge (I only had to retry once or twice through the whole tournament).

I combined Ahbooyah61's list and DJ Koolaide's strategy. Edit your batter so that he's right handed. Edit the list so they're all lefties, and reduce their batting stats. It may have been random variation, but it seemed like it helped to edit the build of the last five batters to XX Small. Even if it doesn't do anything, it's comical to see a tiny Prince Fielder swinging a toothpick.

I used classic batting controls throughout this, since it made it easier to aim for the left field porch in Minute Maid Park. It does take a little practice. At full power meter, you will pull foul more so you will need to adjust your aim and timing as your power meter decreases. It doesn't much matter early on, but by the last five batters this becomes important. At that point, no matter who you're using, your power is severely diminished. You will need the extra power you get from pulling your hits to reliably hit it out. I averaged around 10 HR per contest for the final few opponents.

This achievement is an excercise in handling frustration. Even with their stats lowered all the way, the last few batters can still crush your soul by cranking out 7 or 8 HR on their very last out, erasing what you might have thought was an insurmountable lead (Curse you, Pujols!). The only thing to do is retry until they get a bad round and you get a good one.
