sudden death rounds start at the end of a game if more than 1 player reaches 4,000 points. in order to win your opponents must all fall off the track and explode or be left off-screen. i did this easily on medium difficulty vs bots but this could be boosted with a 2nd controller also.

you can also win sudden death rounds by reaching the finish line first at the end of the full track if your opponents manage to survive all the way with you.
