How to unlock the Infamy Level 10 achievement in Maneater - Definitive Guide
Infamy is similar to GTA's Wanted levels--as you kill humans, you gain notoriety, and shark hunters will pursue you. When you destroy enough of their boats, a named bounty hunter will show up and you can kill them for an Evolution.
This was taking me forever as I was targeting the shark hunters and not their ships. While eating the hunters is good for topping off your health, it takes ages to fill your infamy meter, and your primary focus should be to sink the shark hunters' vessels. Use Tailwhip and Lunge to hit their boats, powering up with your Active Ability for additional damage when needed (you unlock Active Abilities later in the game when you receive Body evolutions). Use Evade to dodge if divers or hunters lock on to you. Jump out of the water and onto boats if you lose health--you can grab hunters to snack on as you tailwhip the deck of their ships. Back off and eat some nearby fish if you take a beating.
The final 2 bounty hunters have electric shields, but you can just go under their boats and tailwhip the shield emitter with . It should break after a few shots.
I have 3 suggestions for gear that will help you tear through all 10 infamy levels with ease:
1. Shadow Teeth are OP and practically break the game. They give you additional health every time you land a bite, and you can bite things much faster than they can dish out damage. This was the first thing I upgraded to Tier 5 after my Sonar and it made the rest of the game a pushover. You get the Shadow Teeth as a reward for finding all the locations in the second area, Dead Horse Lake.
2. Use the Bone Armor for the rest of your body--Head, Body, Fins and Tail. This gear is made to decimate boats and will help you grind this out quickly. You get these from killing Apex predators.
3. Equip the Hearty Organ, which is unlocked after beating the second bounty hunter. It gives you a great health boost and helps prevent you from being knocked off boats.

Is this glitchy? I hit level 10 but this did not unlock for me :( and it's now the only missing achievement I have for the game. Do you need to eat the last leader guy in order for it to count or something? The in-game screen said I was level 10 once I destroyed his boat, but I was being attacked by a dozen other boats at the same time so wasn't able to find the leader guy's body to finish chomping him down (which I did for every other leader, just for my own satisfaction). Also tried quitting the game and starting it up again but still no pop.

DenverMax27 some people reported problems with delayed popping. You may want to fully quit out of the game, sign out of your profile, do a hard reset of your Xbox, and then sign back in and reboot the game. I think one person said the achievements popped a few days after unlocking while they were playing a completely different game.

Throughout the game, killing humans will cause hunters to try and take you out. After killing a bunch of hunters your infamy rank grows and when you level it up you have specialty hunters searching for you that give you rewards. Each infamy level has one, and the only two, for me at least, that gave me an issue were the final two because they have shock shields on their boats that damage you. The easiest way to take them out however, is the tanks they throw out at you that when you bite you can throw them back at the boats doing lots of damage. Hopefully this helps! If not comment down below what all you're having issues with!
Edit: according to A Navy Of Ducks, the bone armor is super effective!

I found using bone armor is super effective in taking down the boats and minimizing the damage they do to you also

To raise your infamy, you need to attack humans and their boats. This will send shark hunters after you and killing them will also raise your infamy even more. Reaching the max of an infamy level will send a mini-boss after you and eating them will cause your infamy to rank up. The story requires you to raise your infamy to rank 6, so you’ll complete most of the ranks as part of the story. With that in mind, you can complete all of the ranks by continuing to attack humans and beating the mini-bosses before completing the story, but the mini-bosses will get more difficulty with each rank up.
The final two mini-bosses use shark shields, which damage you when you are close to their ship. The part that powers the shield is located under the ship, so focus on destroying that part of the ship at the beginning of the fight.

the easiest way to farm is a set of "bone armor" + swim around ships on CD by pressing p1 (evasion) in the set of bones, the shark will spin and cause damage, since it is the destroyed ships that go into the counter, then there is no particular point in biting hunters, unless will heal, but in an almost endless dodge, healing is not often needed
