How to unlock the Wiser achievement in Maneater - Definitive Guide

To reach Elder Growth, you'll first need to reach level 20. After reaching level 20, you'll get a flashing notification above your Exp bar stating to Fight Scaly Pete. Scaly Pete will spawn in the Sapphire Bay once you complete all available missions in this area.

Defeating Scaly Pete will also earn you "Survive Again" achievement and will spawn you back at your grotto with your new Elder stats shark.

Apparently not a mater of %, it showed up only after completing side quests in area.

Your infamy rank is also a factor so it's a combination of things, though I can't say exactly what - I had completed everything in the area minus the gate requiring elder status (98% completion) and Scaly Pete did not show up until I hit infamy rank 4.

It's not just level based. Your infamy rank also plays a part and how far you've progressed in the story.

I'm level 29, infamy 8 and on chapter 5 of the story, still at Adult growth.

I didn’t get Sneaky Pete to appear until after I killed Candyman Curtis at Infamy 4 and got the achievement for unlocking 50% of upgrades. They happened simultaneously so I’m not sure which caused it to unlock but hopefully that helps.

I got the achievement for unlocking 50% of upgrades after defeating the Infamy 5 boss, not the Infamy 4. But I've had the notification to go defeat Scaley Pete again even before defeating Infamy 4 boss.

Your shark becomes an elder after your second encounter with Scaly Pete.

I'm sure you get this after 50% of objectives in sapphire bay. Then Scaly pete should appear.

The meeting with Pete is obligatory, in fact, after it they give you a trophy if by this time you were already level 20 because I actually had 23 at the time of defeating Pete

To do this you need to fight Pete, and to fight him you need to complete all the main missions.
