How to unlock the Clone Chaos achievement in Marvel Pinball - Definitive Guide

[Difficulty: Medium] Overview | Discussion

By "four stages" it means you need to at least beat the first stage for each of Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Mysterio and J.J. Jameson. Once that's done, you can lock balls in order to start Clone Chaos.

I personally find Mysterio to be the toughest one to complete, so I suggest you do that one first.

COMPLETE ALL FOUR STAGES

  • Mysterio
To start the Mysterio Stage, you need to complete the Hurry Up mode three times. To activate this mode, hit the captive ball on the mini playfield. You can easily hit this from the tip of the upper left flipper after hitting the Mysterio ramp. At this point Mysterio will move and take up a position above a ramp – either the Upper Left Websling ramp, left orbit, Goblin ramp or the Unpredictable Hole.

You'll have 15 seconds to hit the feature he's over and "catch" him. Some of them can be tough to hit quickly (like the Unpredictable Hole), so a good strategy is to not bother, wait out the time and hit the captive ball again, hoping he goes somewhere else that's easier to hit. In any event, catch him three times to start the Stage (you'll know because everything will go dark and purple).

To complete the Stage, you have to make three flashing shots: Goblin ramp, Doc Ock Hole and Upper Right Websling ramp. What makes this tricky is that the flippers are reversed, so hitting the right flipper activates the left one. The good thing about this is that you have permanent ball save for the entire stage, so don't worry too much if you lose your ball.

Tip: When this Stage starts, turn the controller upside-down. That way you can use the normal left/right like you're used to. This makes it a little easier for some people.

You'll have only 35 seconds to hit each ramp/hole. When you hit one, the timer resets back to 35 seconds. If you fail to hit all three in time, the Stage fails. The annoying thing about failing Mysterio is that you have to catch him three more times to start the Stage again. So I suggest you work on this one first, as it's by far the hardest of the four to complete.

  • Doc Ock
You start a Doc Ock Stage by hitting the Doc Ock hole beneath his legs twice using the mini playfield flippers. Once started, Doc Ock will float over the table and slowly advance on you.

During the Stage, hit any of the three Websling ramps to "hurt" him – the easiest to consistently hit is the Middle one on the main table. He will move back every two hits. If too much time passes between successful hits, Doc Ock will advance and it will take two more hits to beat him. Keep going until he completely retreats. The first Stage is pretty easy since he advances slowly and doesn't try to grab your ball.

  • Green Goblin
This one is easy as well. Hit the Goblin ramp three times to start his Stage. On the first stage, he'll throw a pumpkin ball bomb into the center of the table. Hit this bomb to cause it to drop. You'll now have a two-ball multiball going. You need to hit the ramp Goblin is floating above to "hurt" him – he'll only be above the Middle Websling or Goblin ramps. You'll only have 15 seconds to do this. Once you hit him the Stage is complete.

  • J.J. Jameson
This one is probably the easiest. Hit the Daily Bugle orbit once to start the Stage. You'll then have around 15 seconds to hit the right orbit. If you do, the Stage will complete.

START WIZARD MODE: CLONE CHAOS
Once all a Stage for each character is complete, "Final Stage" will be lit under the Doc Ock hole. Shoot the hole to start Chaos mode. At this point you have to lock 3 more balls into the Doc Ock Hole to start Clone Chaos and receive the trophy. A multiball will begin after the trophy pops.

Thanks to Oskari14, Mammouth and StOrMtRoOpErMx19 for info on this trophy.

By four stages we mean four villains who must be defeated at least once:

1. Doctor Octopus . His hole is at the very top (right under his figurine). Hit it twice (we launch the ball in a counterclockwise circle and hit it with the left middle flipper so that the ball flies into Parker's house, then after launching the ball on the mini-platform, we hit it almost immediately to get into the hole) to start the battle. After the Doctor descends to the middle of the table, you need to hit any of the three ramps highlighted with his image three times or more (depending on your speed). In this case, when hit, the entire table should flash. This must be done quickly enough, because... after a while he will begin to approach you and you will have to perform more hits. The easiest option is to learn how to hit the center with the left flipper, each time the ball will return to the left flipper, so you can make three shots in a row in the center at once and the Doctor will finish the performance.

2. Green Goblin . To start the fight with the goblin, you need to launch the ball three times along the Goblin ramp on the right. The easiest way to do this is with the left flipper. During the battle, an additional orange ball will appear on the table: a pumpkin bomb. It is necessary within 20 seconds and without losing the main ball to launch the pumpkin into the ramp where its image is flashing (first it is the Goblin ramp, then the ramp in the center). A fairly simple fight. Please also note that in this mode, if you lose the main ball, you do not lose a life, but simply complete the mode.

3. Mysterio . The most difficult activation and the most difficult fight for me. To activate the battle, you need to repeat the following steps 3 times: launch the ball along the purple ramp onto the upper platform, then hit the upper left flipper and hit the ball on the sandwiched ball on the mini-platform above so that it hits Mysterio, then, within 15 seconds, knock down the teleported Mysterio , launching the ball onto the ramp on which it will appear (clockwise in a circle, on the Goblin ramp, on the web ramp (top left, launch from the mini-platform) and on another one on the right, which, as I understand it, you get to after hitting the house for the fourth time in a row Parker). After this simple action and repeating it three times, hit the clamped ball on the mini-platform a fourth time, the screen will darken, the flipper controls will change places and you will need to launch the ball along three ramps, each of which will be given 35 seconds: on the Goblin ramp, onto the web ramp at the top right (we launch the ball onto the mini-platform along the purple ramp to the left of the center and after opening the gate we immediately hit it with the left flipper, a little higher than we hit Mysterio’s fixed ball) and into Doctor Octopus’s hole. To avoid confusion, I advise you to press both shift keys when hitting to hit the ball.

4. JJ Jameson . Everyone writes that this is the easiest “villain”, but for me he was in second place after Mysterio. To activate, you need to get into its hole on the left. To do this, you need to launch the ball in a counterclockwise circle and hit with the left middle flipper, just hit a little earlier than we hit to launch the ball into Parker's house. The ball will fly along the inner circle and fall into the hole. Once activated, the ball will appear on the left flipper and you will need to launch it in a counterclockwise circle for 15 seconds.

In addition to the above methods, each battle can be started by collecting a certain number of hits on the “bumpers”, which are located at the junctions of the ramps in the center. The third way is to hit the special hole on the right and receive a random “START ALL” award on the reel. All four battles will begin at the same time.

Losing a ball resets the accumulated activations for the battle, but does not reset the defeated villain, however, after activating the final (the Doctor's hole), you need to secure three balls in his hole without losing lives. If you lose a life, everything will be reset.

After all four names to the right of the Spider-Man image light up), you need to launch four balls into Doctor Octopus's hole (once to activate and three times to secure, each new time will be accompanied by the launch of a new ball, which can immediately be sent to Parker's house, and from there to the Doctor's hole). After all this wonderful action, the Magician mode will be launched and a bunch of balls will be released onto the table, and the long-awaited trophy will fall into your piggy bank!
