How to unlock the Drax the Dismemberer achievement in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Definitive Guide

This has been so far the most annoying and RNG based trophy in the game. However, after spending a good hour or so on fighting the Inquisitor on Chapter 7 and the first one in Chapter 8 I found that fighting the Gold one at the end of Chapter 8 was the best way to do it since at that time its only Groot and Drax fighting alongside you. Unfortunately I didn't get a video of it but there is one guide out there that I will link at the bottom that when I noticed what happened I was able to replicate not too soon after.

Essentially it has nothing to do with staggering the enemy but a lot to do with Drax and the attacks he does. If you watch to the end of the video you can see that Drax baits the enemy into slam attacking him which starts a animation of Drax stabbing the enemy's hand into the ground and then holding the other one up, once this animation is happening you will then get the "TRIANGLE" prompt. (I'd also suggest not being too close to them both since it seems to be a dual attack between you and Drax in which you launch a range attack with the blaster while he pulls the arms off)

A lot of this seems to be patience, I personally would recommend maybe staggering the Inquisitor once at the end of his first health bar and then letting him stand back up. After that literally just wait and let Drax keep attacking him and eventually, hopefully he'll bait the attack and trigger the animation.

Hope this at least works for someone else because its by far the most annoying one, Good luck!

Chapter 7 (and many others after)

The Inquisitor enemy first makes its appearance in Chapter 7, but then shows up in many chapters for the rest of the game. The screenshot below shows what they look like.

As with all of the achievements for interrupting an enemy with a specific character's Call to Action, you need to weaken the enemy and fill up their Stagger meter. The best abilities to stagger enemies are Drax's abilities and Quill's Eye of the Hurricane ability. Once they are staggered, you will get a button-y.png prompt while looking at them. Do so, and one of your allies will do a Call to Action. You unfortunately have no control over which ally attacks, so if it isn't Drax for this achievement, you can reload your checkpoint to try again.

The very first such enemy is in Chapter 7, but there are 2 more such enemies in Chapter 8. And where only Drax and Groot remain in your team, it is easier to do. It was in that skirmish that I made this trophy. Otherwise, either Gamora or Groot will tear off their arms.

The trophy is easily obtained as follows:
At any difficulty level, shoot the enemy only with regular ammo and never use your teammates' abilities! Calmly destroy the first strip of the boss. At this stage, Rocket and Gamora were already dead for me. Then at one point Drags himself will grab the boss by two paws and there will be the coveted triangle. Do not destroy one arm!!! Wait until Drags himself grabs exactly two

Completed on the first Inquisitor in Chapter 7. Didn't wait for him to kill everyone except Drax, because that condition doesn't affect this trophy.
I also used the abilities of all the heroes to remove the first life bar of the Inquisitor - so this also does not affect the receipt of the trophy, as was written above. I had a custom difficulty.
After I took off the first HP bar, Drax's triangle lit up on the Inquisitor several times, but I ignored it, thinking it wouldn't work. I continued manipulating him and once again, for the third time, I used Drax's right ability, the Inquisitor knelt down, the triangle lit up, I pressed it, the trophy dropped.

It is not necessary that Drax rips off two arms. In Chapter 7, I demolished the first strip using the abilities of others, on the second strip one arm was torn off by Groot, the second by Drax, the trophy dropped

Many people write that Drax is glitching and does not want to tear off the Inquisitor's limb under any circumstances. Changing the game's difficulty does not help, restarting the game does not help. I tried doing it in Chapters 7 and 8 only with Drax in the team, when everyone else is unconscious.

Passed on normal.
The Inquisitor has two HP bars (red). He took off the first one and about 10 percent of the second one with just pure shooting (R2, no spells). Drax and Gomora were active in the team. The triangle lit up, I pressed it, and got the trophy. Nothing complicated.

I got it in the following way: first, Groot tore off one arm, shot a little, while using the abilities of Drax and Groot, and oh, the treasured one I did it in chapter 8 when Gamora was gone.

There is a suspicion that the trophy is glitched - I had a situation many times when the inquisitor grabbed Drax by the hand, but it was impossible to perform dismemberment. I got it like this: I simply stopped using any guard abilities in this fight, only basic shooting from the blaster, without elemental shots. The trophy dropped on the first try.

To get the trophy, you need to remove the first life bar without tearing off the hands, when the inquisitor has little HP left on the 2nd bar and he is weakened by the blows, the drax will grab both of the inquisitor's hands and tear them off.

Also, Inquisitors appear in Chapter 12, several times, where I got the trophy. The method of not hitting him with skills helped and the trophy dropped the first time.

Even though you first encounter the Inquisitor in Chapter 7, it's easier to complete this trophy towards the end of Chapter 8 , when Gamora runs after Raker and Rocket overloads the batteries. Take down the Inquisitor's first health bar and then you need to catch the animation when Drax pounces on the enemy himself and grabs the enemy, after which you'll have a small window to perform a special attack. If the battle is nearing its end and you still haven't gotten the trophy, reload the checkpoint.

Supplement to ArtGud16's tip.
To get the trophy you must destroy the first health bar in ANY way, but NEVER click on until this point. Then just wait for Drax to approach the robot himself and a scene will start where you will need to press .

On higher difficulties, there's less chance of Drax ripping his arm off.
I tried it in the first skirmish on easy difficulty, it worked the first time.
We take down the first life bar of the inquisitor, at the end of the second we make sure that Drax is still beating him and is nearby. It is not necessary to stun him. The triangle button will appear, we press it and he will tear off both his arms.

In general, I understood that dancing with tambourines is not particularly necessary here. You just need to knock down the inquisitor's first health bar (and it is permissible that someone will tear off his arm, Powerpyx got the trophy on one arm), in the second phase you need to wait until Drax's script triggers and a triangle appears. I tortured the inquisitors for a long time in Chapter 12. I waited for the companions to leave the battle, left their arms, nothing helped. Later, at the end of Chapter 12, when you fight one black inquisitor, I tried to wait for the moment when Drax sticks his sword into the floor and grabs the inquisitor in the second phase

Inquisitors are the Church's giant, one-eyed robots. They appear in any chapter where there are Church servants, starting with Chapter 7.
For the trophy, you need Drax to tear off both of the robot's arms at once. To do this, you need to ignore the triangles that appear, bring the robot's health to a minimum, and then wait for Drax to grab the robot by both arms, and then press the triangle.
To lower the robot's health, I used both abilities and elemental shots - everything worked the first time. The main thing is to wait for the right moment and not cut off one of the arms ahead of time.
