How to unlock the Big Game Hunter achievement in Marvel's Midnight Suns - Definitive Guide

This achievement is actually buggy. I popped the last achievement for going full Dark but this is showing stuck at 98%. Just sent a message to Firaxis, hopefully there's a fix in the works.

As of the latest patch on 5/11/23, this achievement is FINALLY no longer fucked, and will pop normally after getting all base game achievements, and will also autopop if it was previously glitched for you!

Exact same issue I unlocked all achievements on first playthrough apart from full dark and this just unlocked full dark and now I’m also stuck at 98% I followed your link and made a ticket if enough people do it hopefully they’ll fix it tried to clear my cache but no joy

I did. It would have taken eons to get to full dark after my light playthrough so I decided to start up NG+.

I suspect that you have to get all the achievements on a single save, which would be pretty lame. I’ll wait for the patch before deciding to go dark or NG+. I kinda wanted to keep my full light hunter until all four DLCs are out anyway.

Mine is glitches at 96% seems like the light/dark is probably responsible either way, it didn’t increase the tracker when it unlocked for me

I was worried I would not unlock this. I did unlock this TODAY without issues. I did my first playthrough on the Light Balance path. I started New Game + using the same save and speed ran on easy using the Dark Balance Path. I unlocked both Achievements just after saving Wanda. This unlocked before the Dark Balance achievement. Maybe I was lucky or hopefully it has been fixed. Good luck.

If it’s fixed it’s definitely not retroactive sadly. People have been unlocking it daily, just seems to break for some and not for others

I had 50/51 achievements on 8 December 22 and still have not gotten this to pop. Multiple support tickets haven't helped (clear cache on Xbox Series X didn't work).

I unlocked everything but Growing Darkness on my first playthrough. Started an NG+ to unlock Growing Darkness. Unfortunately Big Game Hunter did not unlock for me as well so I'm stuck at 50/51.

I’ve reached out to 2k support, and would recommend anyone else dealing with the issue to do so as well. The more people it effects, the more likely they will fix it, especially with dlc coming out

We're probably gonna have to wait for the Deadpool DLC on the 26th. They'll hopefully issue a patch that fixes it on that day.

I've been playing a game at 100% for ages and now... error has probably still not been fixed, the achievements were 50 out of 51... a shame and annoying. well then, let's see if the bug gets patched to the next DLC. I'm still looking forward to deadpool. is a great game, despite the glitch

I'm about 30 minutes away from finishing the update, I'll let you guys know. They also added 5 new achievements for Deadpool. Looks like we'll be getting achievements for all the characters. Hopefully none of them glitch.

Nope. Had a save put aside with 196 dark orbs. Got the 200, with the cards awarded and still no achievement popped. First cheevo of the Deadpool DLC popped but there's plenty of reports of other Deadpool cheevos glitched as well.

This comment won't add value to the conversation, but this DID pop for me, seemingly without issue. If it means anything, I did NOT start the final mission until I had acquired all other base game achievements. I grinded out the dark balance cheevo (second to last), and THEN completed the game. Big Game Hunter popped along with the cheevo for completing the story.

To all of those that read this, do not load an old save, or do anything but use your active save, or the achievement will glitch. The save needs to have unlocked all of your achs. Aka you must go full light to full dark without reloading anything. I did it all on one playthrough as well to be safe.

All i had to do on my original save was do full dark, think it will work if grind it all the way to 200 dark on that file in post game even tho already unlocked on ng+?

Lewy210 if you try this and it works please report back. I was at full light on my main save and ground it down to about 50/200 light before I hit the glitched Deadpool achievements and gave up.

The Venom story achievement won't unlock even with the "go offline" trick. Makes me worried that the 100% achievement won't unlock for me after i get my darkness level to 100%. Deadpool ones unlocked on second playthrough, wont be doing that again.
I did log a ticket with the above link(here's hoping they will patch this).

All I need is full light and I’m only at 94% so probably best I leave it for now and hope for a patch. Games don’t often sort this kind of stuff for people stuck though. Only new players with 0%

“Community Update: The reported Trophies & Achievements issue has been addressed and will now unlock on a new save or a new playthrough. Thank you for your patience!”

That was posted an hour ago on their twitter. Hopefully it resolves everything going forward.

This is very annoying as it implies for existing saves that all achievements have to be unlocked on the same save. So a reload for spending 1500 gloss on cosmetics, or 10 room upgrades, will void Big Game Hunter. It also means Firaxis intended to make players grind for 100% light and 100% dark on one save which is BS.

Yeah, I refuse to reinstall this game until they do something about Big Game Hunter. This is such garbage. They're being lazy, they can have the achievement autopop easily just like many other devs have done over the years.

I also stuck on 98%. I think it has one achievement that didn't progress when it unlock, so we missing 2% for that one. I also confirm that new DLC of Morbius still don't fix this bug yet.

I already summited the ticket to 2K support.

STILL BUGGED

Tried obtaining all the DLC chieves to see if this would pop...

So--started NG+, grinded all Deadpool, Venom, Morbius achievements... and I am STILL stuck at 98% on this last one with a total of 65/66 achievements.

Also previously submitted a ticket (when I was at 50/51 achievements), still very sad.

Just to check, I started to play NG+ with 4 achievements left - Full Dark, Change the pallet, room upgrades and unlocking all achievements. I got the room upgrade achievement but the progress tracker did not go from 94->96%, so I assume its something to do with NG+ bugging the game/achievement out.

unlocked the change colour pallet it went up to 96% now so its definitely either NG+ or its the upgrade rooms achievement that is bugged.

Unlocked today, May 8th 2023.
What I did: I was on a game and I encountered the glitch on the DLCs for Deadpool and when I realized that grinding back from full light to full dark was very time consuming and boring, I started a New Game+ on the same save (keeping relationships). I played normally going for the Dark light achievement and unlocked soon after the Johnny Blaze mission (I was grinding side missions and finished the Deadpool final mission while starting the Morbius one). After the dialogue with Nico, the achievement for the Dark path unlocked and soon after the Big Game Hunter. Didn't start the Venom DLC.

I started the game after the DLC was fixed and everything popped fine. This achievement didn't unlock right away, but I saved the game and quit to the main menu and it popped.

General recommendations
- The characters are essentially divided into Avengers and Midnight's Children. If you want to befriend an Avengers character, you most often need to choose the Light Side answer. For Midnight's Children, you most often need to choose the Dark Side answer.
- Quick attacks "Qiuсk" are very important. I recommend taking on average 1-2 per hero deck and 5+ for the mission as a whole.
- There are only two characters in the game that can be good healers, these are Nico and our Hunter (before the Season Pass characters come out). An alternative would be Captains Marvel and America, who can block some damage while weak characters deal damage. At later levels, it is important to balance your team.
- The fastest General Missions (NOT story missions that need to be done in between Story missions) are missions with the "Defeat enemies" task, since using environmental objects they can be completed in 1-2 turns.
- Trophies for Light/Dark balance can be completed faster in New Game+ if you didn't have time to do so during the storyline.
- There are trophies that need to be obtained in one campaign! That is, starting a New Game+ you will lose all progress on these trophies: " Hunter the explorer ", " Fully operation ", " Extracurricular activities " and " Cape of many colors ".
- Once you unlock the Agatha Cauldron in the library, you will have access to the Offering Bowl, which is located south of the Agatha Altar. You can put Artifacts in it, then use one of the words of power and receive a reward in return. You can do this once per night. I found information that to get double rewards, you need to use the following combinations: Book - Open; Magic Wands - Reveal; Daggers - Break; Various jewelry, Bowls, etc. - Purify.
