I advise you not to waste keys on regular chests at the beginning.
After leveling up Arcane Level to 4, you will be able to open white chests without keys.
Arkane Level is upgraded from the knowledge gained: discovering a new item in history, such as paintings, interior objects, diary entries or books, interacting with animals.
Come to the library every morning and evening, as the books may be updated there.
Petting/praising a dog every day gives +5 points and resources, but a cat gives +25 points.
