How to unlock the Melee Training achievement in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Definitive Guide

To practice any of these moves, use the first sim disk. The tasks are:

Shield removed 10 times
Some enemies have shields, Press cn_X to grab the shields, then tap cn_X rapidly to remove it.

Foes Thrown 20 times
Press cn_X, then cn_X again. Strong heroes like Hulk and Thing will do this more easily.

Stun Combos 10 times
Press [cn_A], [cn_B], [cn_B]

Pop-up Combos 10 times
Press Press [cn_A], [cn_A], [cn_B]

Trip Combo 10 times
Press [cn_A], [cn_B], [cn_A]

Strikes while foe is prone 20 times
You can knock an enemy to the ground with a trip combo, a thrown item, or a power. Then walk up and press [cn_A].

Strikes while grappling 20 times
Press cn_X to grab, then [cn_A] to strike. Cannot be done with Hulk and other Super-strong heroes. Try Captain America.

Air Smashes 20 times
Press [cn_Y] to jump, then [cn_A] or [cn_B].

There are 8 total goals for this achievement. These can be done at any time during the campaign or during simulator missions. They are as follows:

  • 10 Shields Removed: Use on anyone carrying a shield to pry it out of their hands.
  • 20 Foes Thrown: Hit twice near an enemy, then angle the movement thumbstick in any direction.
  • 10 Stun Combos: Use an combo.
  • 10 Pop-Up Combos: Use an combo.
  • 10 Trip Combos: Use an combo.
  • 20 Prone Strikes: When an enemy is on the ground, move over them and hit .
  • 20 Grapple Strikes: Grapple with , then hit .
  • 20 Air Smashes: Jump with , then hold .
