How to unlock the Collector achievement in MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE - Definitive Guide

To get a color for a character simply play and beat arcade mode with said characters' and obtain a color for both, that is it. You can do so again to receive a second color with said characters' Note: that the DLC costumes do count toward this achievement as well, this can help your progression faster, but only if you own any costumes.

This next tip only applies to some.
Another quick way for those who own all of the DLC costumes and Pre-Order bonuses, is using Thor, Mega-Man X, Hulk, or RYU (Captain Marvel for Playstation)
as they are the only fighter that have 3 costumes right now which means completing arcade with them as a team (who-ever) you choose they will net you 6 colors in one run. it's just a suggestion and only apply to those who own the DLC costumes as well as the Pre-Order Costumes as well.

Please Note: These numbers are subject to change as more Costumes and Character will become available in the near future. I will update this guide when changes have occurred.

In order to unlock character colors, you will need to beat arcade mode with any character at least once to unlock colors for the characters you have completed it with.

Each character has four colors each, which players can use to distinguish themselves from the other player if they are using the same character that the other player is using in a local match, a tournament, or in any online mode. Keep in mind that if a character such as Ryu, Captain Marvel, Hulk, or X, has an alternate costume, they will have a total of eight colors to choose from.

This trophy will also come naturally when going for the "Full Roster" trophy, as you will find yourself doing two playthroughs with each team you have completed arcade mode with to unlock all of their colors at the end of the second playthrough with said team.
