"Using a hyper gauge bar" just means performing a hyper combo, which you can do any time when your bar is at 1 or higher.
Each character has multiple hyper combos, but they can all use
+
as a shortcut command to a level 1 hyper combo.
At the end of the match where you performed your 50th HC, this achievement will pop.

In order to unlock this trophy, you will need to use up at least fifty points of meter from your hyper combo gauge. This will come naturally while playing arcade mode or in any online mode when going for the "Wonderful!", "Amazing!", "Winning with Style", and "That'll Leave a Mark" trophies on either one of the aforementioned two modes.
