How to unlock the When Push Comes to Shove achievement in MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE - Definitive Guide
Easiest way to do this achievement is to use any character you like, go into Arcade Mode, and hold away from your opponent. When you're about to get hit by an attack, hit RT the second it hits your block to do an advancing guard.
What I did was started arcade mode, set the difficulty to easy (I think it's probably faster on a higher difficulty level as the AI will attack more, say normal I think is ideal) lowest damage and infinite time. Keep performing advancing guards until you have enough, the achievement will unlock at the end of the match.
(Online/Offline)
If you are familiar with the gameplay mechanics in previous Marvel vs. Capcom games, they will cause the player to create some distance away from the opponent by pushing them away. They are a great tool to use if you find yourself in a situation where you fear that you might lose the match.
In addition, if you time an Advancing Guard against an opponent's projectile properly, you can reflect it back to them as a comeback gimmick to counter the opponent, similar to Athena's Psycho Reflector in The King of Fighters series.
As the trophy's description states, you will need to do fifty of these in order to unlock it, you can speed up the rate you can unlock this trophy in by having your opponent (whether it's an AI or your boosting partner in an online match) to perform a full screen projectile hyper combo such as Shinku Hadouken to make this process faster, keep in mind that if you are doing this in single player, you can only unlock it in arcade mode.
