This is one of two alternate ending achievements. The game autosaves right before the ending, making it easy to Continue and get both.
To get this one, you have to have gotten the Gilded Mushroom for finding and turning in all 10 masks.

When you get to the end of the game, ignore the archmage in the crystal. There's a pedestal to place the mushroom on behind him; go through the portal that opens, down, past some monsters, and up a set of stairs, where you'll find the mask on a pedestal.

This achievement is probably missable if you didn't save before going entering the Abyss, since you can't go back. You have to place all the 10 stone masks (4 in overworld map and 6 in dungeons) to get an special mushroom. When in the Abyss, don't save the mage but continue your path to get this achievement.

You need the Gilded Mushroom for this ending, which is acquired when you collect and turn in the 10 Stone Masks scattered throughout the game (see Full set).
After you defeat the overgrown Mushroom in the final area, make your way past the Archmage encased in the Crystal and interact with the pedestal behind him to place the Gilded Mushroom on it. Go through the portal and make your way past all the enemies and up all the stairs. At the very top, there will be a Mask. Interact with it to get this ending and to unlock the trophy.
If you went for this ending first, you don't need to do a complete second playthrough to get Contract Completed. When you get back to the main menu, just hit "continue" and you'll load into the game right after you defeated the overgrown Mushroom. This time, just interact with the Archmage inside the Crystal to free him.
