How to unlock the Suicide Mission achievement in Mass Effect 2 - Definitive Guide
On a side note, I would advise completing all of the loyalty missions before using the Omega 4 relay. Not only is it a great source of extra XP, but as far as I'm aware, it is one of the main factors to getting the 'No One Left Behind' achievement.
Save before, so you can always go back to that save and do more loyalty missions and get more XP and whatever (or if you screw up en route to the "No One Left Behind" achievement).
This achievement pops during the cut sequence BEFORE you actually do anything, and if you can get Paramour, it'll pop right before this one.
This is a story related achievement, which will unlock with natural progression through the game.
Discover and collect the IFF to gain access to the Omega 4 Relay. You will be prompted with a mission from the Illusive Man to find and collect this item.
Story related. If you want more info, continue reading. Otherwise, know that this will unlock through the natural progression of the story.
Once you have completed all of the recruitment, loyalty, and other story missions, then it’s the best time to go through the Omega 4 Relay. You’ll be able to go through after collecting the Reaper IFF, but make sure you’ve done everything else for the storyline beforehand (Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker don't count for the story). There are a couple of things that you have to ensure of before you go through the Relay. Ideally, each crewmember will be loyal. If someone isn’t loyal, then it’s ok. See No One Left Behind for a solution. The Normandy also needs to have all of the upgrades that you can research. The upgrades are listed below. All three of the upgrades are obtained in conversations with characters. Go to Investigate and select Ship Upgrades. If you do not do these upgrades, then some of your companions WILL die.
- Thanix Cannon – 15,000 Platinum – Conversation option after Garrus is recruited.
- Heavy Ship Armor – 15,000 Palladium – Conversation option after Jacob is recruited.
- Multicore Shielding – 15,000 Palladium – Conversation option after Tali is recruited.
