Attain the highest level of readiness in each theater of war.
How to unlock the Defender achievement in Mass Effect 3 - Definitive Guide
The app increases readiness at a slower rate than actually playing multiplayer, but providing you're willing to check into your i-gadget every hour or so, you can easily earn +10-15% readiness in every sector per day.
You need an online pass for the app to transfer data to your Mass Effect 3 game (thanks to mDoolin14 for the confirmation).
Edit 2: The app has been removed from the App Store, but can still be accessed online at http://social.bioware.com/n7hq/.
Thanks again to mDoolin14.
Equinox83 : If you let the game select the map for you - I think the option is "unknown" sector, then you will get a small % for each sector simultaneously. Whereas if you actually choose a specific map, then you will get a much larger % but only for that sector.
You can either use the APP,
or play multiplayer =
You start with 50 % at every section.
(This will go down by a few % if you don't play Multiplayer )
Choose Public Match, Any Map, Any Enemy and pick Bronze difficulty.
You can easily blast through the first waves with 4 people and even if you loose at later waves it will go up at around 4 %.
VERY IMPORTANT = to find a game you should download all the free map packs.

Once you reach 100%, simply start the game and achievement will popup once you are connected to ea servers.

Mass Effect Infiltrator is a game that can be found on Windows Phone or an iGadget (iPhone, iPad, etc)
In order to pop this trophy, you have to raise each theater of war from 50% to 100%. In order to do so you need to play multiplayer (or the games listed aboves).
There are five theaters of war that need to be raised to 100%. The most effective way is to do Bronze missions in each theater until you reach 100%. The maps take around 10 to 25 minutes to complete. (Basically, get ready to commit yourself to hours of multiplayer.)
If you decide to play Galaxy at War, this will take several days. Clicking on each section of the map will bring up three available missions. Each mission has a different completion length. 5 hours is the longest one, but provides the most amount of readiness; while 1 hours is the shortest one with the least amount.
As I haven't played Infiltrator, I can not give any insight as to how that works.
Readiness goes down within several hours on Galaxy at War and within a day of no play on Multiplayer. It is best to check on your readiness on Galaxy at War as often as possible until you've gotten the trophy.
On one last note, you must have the online pass activated for Galaxy at War and Infiltrator. Without the online pass, the data from the game and app will not sync to your account.
The trophy should pop after syncing to your account to the game. Just loading the menu screen to the game should activate it.
Edit: Galaxy at War can now be found at http://n7hq.masseffect.com.

This is the only achievement that REQUIRES you to play online (unless you have an iOS device - see below). Many others can be made a bit easier through the MP, but this will force you to either buy the game new for the code or purchase an Online Pass. You need to have each theater of war on the Galaxy at War map at 100% at the same time. The fastest way to obtain this is to play Bronze, Random matches. This way you will receive a 3% increase to each theater of war per match at once (instead of only one theater), requiring only 17 matches to unlock (you start at 50% readiness).
The only alternative to buying the Online Pass to play the normal MP portion of the game is if you own an iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) and download the "Datapad" app (free), or purchase the "Infiltrator" game ($7) which can also increase your Galactic Readiness.
(Online) This is the only trophy that is required to be done online. You must get each theater of war up to 100% readiness. The easiest way to do it is to select a random match on bronze difficulty. If you complete the mission, all theaters will go up 3%. Doing this, you’ll need to play a random mission 17 times. Obviously, Silver and Gold difficulty will give you a greater amount of readiness per attempt, but those difficulties are much tougher than Bronze and will take more time.
It is also worth noting that your overall galactic readiness rating will drop by 1% every six hours or so. If you don't play online for a full day, then your readiness will drop by 4%. It is not how often you play the game, but how often you play the multiplayer that determines how often your rating drops. However, if you do not connect to the EA servers, meaning that you play offline, your rating will not drop.
Thanks to Tyger7 on x360a for the above method.
You can also increase your readiness through other means. If you have an iPhone, iPad, or Android, you can purchase Mass Effect: Infiltrator ($4.99, requires iOS 3.1 or later). The Datapad app has been retired, but it is available to use on Bioware's site (thanks to OceanH for the heads up). Both of those can raise your galactic readiness rating by playing them. If you use the apps, get your rating to 100% and then check your status in the war room. The trophy will unlock shortly after.
- Make a private Match (Create a Match)
- keep Location Unknown
- Have the Enemies be geth to make it bit easier
- have challenge be Bronze as its been easier fighting and less time consuming.
Idk whats the best weapons but make sure to have one weapon for Faster recharge Speed. If u dont got the Geth Plasma Shotgun (by far Best Shotgun maybe best default weapon) and try to save up 99k for it (Depending on the RNG Luck) and try to Survive until past Wave 5 for higher Readiness (2-3% more)
*Note* Take as much a break if u can
To get it you need to play co-op, for one mission on a random map they give 3-4% readiness. On average, a bronze mission takes 18-25 minutes. In the end, you need to play about 25-30 games.
Playing on a non-random map is not effective, it gives 7-8%, but for one region out of five, which ultimately is 2.5 times slower.
It is linked to EA accounts. As you progress, you collect some kind of chips that fall out of some enemies, called intel. They can be exported to ME3. 1 intel=1% on the galaxy map.
