How to unlock the Long-Distance Jump achievement in Mass Effect: Andromeda - Definitive Guide

The spots in the other two videos didn't work for me, but the video linked below had a spot that worked first try, and seems a lot more forgiving (since it doesn't seem to require jumping at the "very last second").

One tip I would give is to equip the Adept pathfinder profile. This uses biotic jump and evades, which seem to provide a slightly higher jump and further reaching evade. I couldn't get the achievement to unlock until I switched profiles.

I land out even further than you do and it just won't unlock.

I tried so many times to get it, only to get it one try with the explorer profile. I tested it out; explorer dash has a further horizontal distance. And i think the game tracks the distance from the point of when you use dash rather than when you jump. Cannot confirm the last bit, but its worked for me dashing really early. I hope this helps out anyone beating their head against the wall trying to get this to pop

I switched to explorer, and actually held down the jump button instead of tapping it like I did every other time and the achievement popped for me.

Worked perfectly for me. Followed the video while using explorer. After the reset it took 3-4 seconds for the achievement to pop.

I actually managed to get this one by a glitch. While I was inside the Turian ark, I guess the low gravity made the game think I was floating in the air the whole time. Got it without even trying.

I couldn't get any of the sites on Eos to work so I tried jumping down in to the ravine near the bridge on Havarl, popped first time. I was using Adept at the time though I've had the biotic jump the whole game so I don't see the difference.

Before I got the achievement I used a mission marker (turian debris) that was right next to a decent height and went from 40m away to pretty much on the mark (distance goes away close up) and it never popped. I think it's just dodgy!

I just did it with my soldier profile. Just a bit more on the right from the jumping spot showed in the video there are 3 rocks. I climbed up the third, sprinted, jumped and then dashed to avoid hitting the side of the mountain and the achievement unlocked.

I realized that I had to jump from the exact spot that the player jumped from in this video and I boosted at about the same time.
Jumping from the edge of the cliff and boosting out later and farther than shown in this video did not let me unlock the achievement. I had to pretty much mimic exactly what this video showed.

The following achievement is quite simple and may take many tries to actually unlock, don't fret however as it is Not glitched. Your first chance to unlock this is after reaching EOS and unlocking the Mako.

From the point you start in the Mako, follow the trail and up the hill it takes you then take a left and you will see a S.A.M. Memory as a green flashing orb, this is where we will jump from and get an easy 30m.

You will need to position yourself how I did in my video or how Pyx did in his video, get a running start then boost jump off the cliff at the last second and boost dash while in mid air to give yourself some distance. Sometimes you'll land it, sometimes it'll just black you out and send you back up to the top. I have tested it across 3 accounts and have unlocked it the same way every single time so it will unlock.

Here are 2 guides showcasing the areas where we both did it:

As you can see in my video I bounced off a rock, however the rock is not needed and if you land next to it you will unlock it.

As you can see in Pyx's video, he landed just before the game kicked him back up to the mountain ridge.

Any questions please let me know and any negative vites, please leave a reason.

I agree with Space Oddity. It seems easier once you change your profile to Adept. I had no success till I switched my profile. Still a great guide. Thumbs up from me. Thanks!

I spent an hour repeating this jump and nothing. I did exactly what's in the video except I couldn't recreate the little glitch off the rock at the end of the jump. Still, i was landing very close to where you do. Only 39 unlocks out of 18,634 players. Glitched?

You don't have to hit the rock, you can go next to it and still get it. I did this on another account then loaded up my main and did it in a single go.

I think it helps if you change your profile to Adept. I tried number a times with fail until I changed to Adept. I just unlocked the achievement 5 minutes ago, so it isn't glitched

+1 to the Powerpyx guide, although it took me six tries. It is definitely a bit glitchy; I didn't get as much distance in the run where I got the achievement as I did in prior attempts with no luck. I was not an Adept if that helps anyone.

Both work, I did it my way and got it after about 20 tries then loaded it up on two other accounts and got it straight away on both.

Pyx was literally a few steps from where I was, although his is different since it sometimes cancels your jump and shoves you back up to the top before you land

Another good spot for this achievement is in the mission High Noon. Jump off the cliff right in front of you after meeting Reyes and Sloane flights off. Worked for me first try

Got it on about my 10th try, it really is important to jump on the very last second......just be prepared to dash back up a few times to get the job done.

I did it in Voeld, on the first high cliff I've found, near the Outpost. The key things it's not only using biotic jump (Biotic and Explorer profiles), but holding down the A button all the way during the jump and pressing B for dodge as soon as Ryder starts to fall. Got it first try and shared this "method" with other friends who could do it in other places, like Eladeen and even Havarl!

Actually, this is quite simple and there's no need to go to a specific spot to do it. But you have to use a specific profile to make it possible (or at least less frustrating).

Use the biotic propulsion as your jump set. That way you'll have a little gain both in height and distance. There are two profiles with biotic propulsion: Biotic (what a surprise!) and Explorer. Select one of those.

All you need to do is find a cliff significantly high in any planet. Yes, you don't need to go to a specific planet, just have to find a good cliff. Just run to the edge, jump and dash forward.

Now, the key point is timing your jump and dash forward to attain enough distance...

The important part: when you press the cn_A button, you need to press and hold it all the way during the jump. Don't tap it. Doing that will reduce significantly the distance of your jump. You also have to wait a little while before pressing cn_B to dash. Wait Rider starts to fall and immediatly dash forward, pressing and holding cn_B.

There's an alternative way for gaining speed before the jump. You can dash, jump and dash again. But it will make it more difficult as you can easily lose the edge of the cliff, falling down directly without even jump...

There's a little delay before the achievement unlocking. It may take up to 5 or 6 seconds...
I did it myself in a cliff next to the settlement on Voeld, but I know others who did it on Elaaden and even Havarl...

Thank you!!! All the other solutions didn't work for me, but when I noticed your alternative way to jump, it worked! The achievement had bugged me for so long that I was ready to give up. Thank you again!

Tanx for the feedback. The other solutions seems to complicate things limiting to a specific spot and not distressing the key point that's the proccess of jumping... Anyway, I'm really glad I could help you. I hope this solution can help many more!

Go to the spot on Eos shown in the video. Simply run and then as you reached the edge of the cliff jump and then dash forward. As long as you reach near the spot that i did, the achievement should pop. Thanks for watching. Happy hunting!

The easiest place to do this is on Eos, right after landing at the first settlement and getting access to the Nomad for the first time. You need to drive up the mountain side behind the settlement and jump from the upper cliff. Running to the cliff, jumping with cn_X and then at the top of your jump, boost dash with cn_O to give yourself a little extra distance on the jump. You may or may not be transported back to the top of the mountain automatically after landing at the bottom.

Below is a video from PowerPyx showing you exactly where and how to do this:

I couldn't get this to pop for me for ages and it was one of the last trophies I needed.

After multiple attempts in multiple locations I finally managed it.

All I changed was my Profile to Adept, so you use biotic jump and evade. I did one jump on Eos with the new profile and the trophy popped on the first attempt.

This trophy can only be earned in single player.

This trophy can be earned from any high mountainous area on the planets Eos, Voeld, Kadara, and Elaaden. To earn this trophy, run and jump off the edge of a high area in any of these planets and boost forward. You do not need to land safely on the ground; as you jump from a really high place the screen fades to black and you spawn back where you jumped from. Make sure to have a running start to get forward momentum on the jump and then boost forward.

Long-Distance Jump Video Guide:

This one is a bit hard to explain, but basically you want to jump off a tall cliff holding forward and then use the dodge-dash with your jetpack to gain some speed and distance. You can do this right after getting the Nomad. It is best to watch this video for a good location and method to obtain this.

Easy to get on Eos, find any high mountain and jump off it.

If you can't do it, change your profile to adept, in my case it only worked with this profile.

For a long time I couldn’t get the trophy by simply jumping off the ledges. Then I looked more carefully at the first video and did it according to the scheme: take out a weapon, run, jump , after a second jerk forward , then a second later a jumping melee attack . It fell out the first time, the black screen is not a problem.

In my case, the trophy only dropped after landing on the ground without dying, that is, the screen should not turn dark upon landing. During the jump, I advise you to aim at the rocks below, so that after falling on them you will survive.

Due to the buggyness, it is difficult to say what is suitable. I can say one thing, I did it with the screen darkening, without an adept. Once on the 70th, on the mountain behind the hangar, where the nomad stood at the very beginning. In short, just jump, it will appear randomly.

I did the video twice on the scout’s profile and it didn’t show up. It helped after switching to the engineer profile. I don’t know if this was the reason, but you never know.

In general, the method in the video works 100%. The fact that the screen goes dark does not matter; just in case, I chose the “adept” profile. Fell out on the third try.

Eos, after installing the outpost and talking with Edison, immediately jump down

By Leyke123 on 18 Feb 2022 23:26
The condition that the screen “should not darken” is NOT NECESSARY! The essence of the achievement seems to be the long jump. Find a higher place (in my case, the Builder's Chasm on Havarl), sprint, take a jump , and after a second, jerk forward by . It worked the second time. The screen went dark and I was thrown back onto the wall.
