Dang, I tried this to no avail. Played multiple multiplayer matches, no luck. Took me 6 gold extracts to get that one. I have 3 more attempts I guess as I work up to 6 teams.

This solution won't work if you get to level 20 on the app. You have to send your strike team close to level 20 in game and get the result in game too. This solution will fix the achievement only for those who got to level 20 in game and the chivo didn't pop. Worked for me perfectly this way. I tryed after leveling from the app and it did not worked...

so ive gotten three teams up to level 20 so far, first one was in the app unfortunatly but the second two were in game but the achievement still isnt popping up. I tried going to challanges in multiplayer and played a few matches but still nothing. Any ideas or do you have to go to a specific place in the challange menu?

I can now confirm that I used the above method. I debriefeda team to lvl 20 in the MULTIPLAYER MENUS and then went to Prestige>Challenges and the cheevo popped alnost immediately. I had the same issues with it, i.e. used the app, had 4 teams leveled 20 and there was no cheevo. Thanx for the tip. Finally got my 100%

Unfortunately it didn't work for me, I have 4 at level 20 now so I'm starting to worry I'll be totally glitched out of this. But I'll keep trying it just incase.

Finally it unlocked with this method :D Perhaps it's a coincidence but maybe it's worth a try, I went into the multiplayer menu to check on my strike teams and one came back successful and levelled up to level 20. I then went straight to the mentioned above area and it unlocked! This was my 5th strike team to reach level 20 (2 in the app, and 3 in game).

I can also confirm this method worked for me. I had leveled up my first team to level 20 via the app and then five other teams after that in the game and no achievement. I leveled my sixth team to level 20 via multiplayer and then went into prestige, then challenges, and the achievement popped finally!

If for some reason you accidentally level them all up to 20 and recruit the 6th team on the app like I did, you deff won't get anything. have no fear though because you can manage teams on the app, retire the team and recruit a new one instead of thinking you muffed up and have to start a whole new game for those two achievements.

I could use help with that too - I have one team that' stuck in a mission for months. I can't pick it in the app, and if I pick it in the game the game crashes and sends me back to the home screen (XB1). I've leveled up about 8 teams now to level 20, and done every pick in the challenges menu. I can't get the one for 6 teams to pop either, even though I'm on my 8th or 9th team now. All the last couple were done in game and not in the app.

I levelled a team via the app and didn't get it. I then levelled the team on the console and didn't get it. Then I used the method in this solution and went to prestige-challenges and it immediately popped so it's definitely worth trying. Upvoted and Thanks!

Unlocked for me as it should. Started up the game, waited for the online status symbol, went to multiplayer -> strike teams, debriefed a mission from a level 19 squad, they leveled up and about 5 sec later this popped. :)

THIS. My god, this. I leveled up my first team to Level 20 in the app, but it didn't pop when I went onto the XB1, then I read other information that it won't happen doing that (this was a few days ago). Just got another leveled to 19, and did the last few missions for Level 20 on the XB1 to be sure. Still no pop. This solution fixed that - too bad I didn't know about going into the Challenges on the first one!

Edit: Oh and I'm not sure if that helped, but I also bought a new strike team after hitting level 20, but before going to the "challenges" tab. I read in some other solution here, that this could help.

This is my experience with this achievement.

I levelled up a team to level 20 doing mostly missions on the Apex HQ mobile app (the final mission to get to 20 was accepted and debriefed on the app) I then loaded up the game on my console and tried everything suggested here to get the achievement to pop to no avail, which was to be expected really looking at all the comments about the final mission needing to be debriefed on console.

Luckily I had started working on another strike team at the same time as this so it wasn't too much of a grind to get another team to level 19. This was once again through a mixture of accepting and debriefing mission and on Apex HQ and console. I then accepted and debriefed the mission which took me to level 20 on console, achievement didn't pop!

So now I thought (after reading various comments here and elsewhere) that the only way I could get this achievement would be to recruit a new strike team on console and get it to level 20 just by purely doing missions on console and not using the mobile app. As I recruited the new strike team, the Top Talent achievement popped! I don't know why that triggered it but thought I would share for others who might have the same issue, and I couldn't see this 'trigger' posted anywhere.

I didn't try going to prestige/challenges once I got my 2nd team to level 20, so not sure if that would or wouldn't have worked for me, but I suppose it's worth trying that too as others here have suggested.

To earn the "Top Talent" achievement, you must level a Strike Team up to level 20. This will take some time, but with use of the Apex HQ app it will make it somewhat easier and quicker.

It is imperative that when your team is nearing level 20 in experience that you complete the final strikes in game via the Strike Team menu in Multiplayer, or the Tempest, and not via the app. This means launching and completing them. Should your Strike Team level up to 20 in the app it will not unlock the achievement; nor will it unlock when you log into the game. At this point you'll have to level another Strike Team to level 20. You've been warned.

**If you get a team to level 20 in the app, and then level a team to 20 in game and still don't unlock the achievement; try playing a few MP matches, or visit the Prestige menus. Some players have reported their achievement unlocking while doing something else in MP.**

It is recommended that you download the "Apex HQ" application on your smart phone. It is a free app that you can link to your Xbox account. From here you can send your Strike Teams on missions from anywhere. Missions take real time to complete.
It is also recommended that you keep recruiting Strike teams for the "Teamwork" achievement. See that achievement guide for details.

Enter the multiplayer menu and visit the "Strike Teams" menu. You can also access your strike teams in the Nexus or on the Tempest if you've played the SP campaign.
When you first begin, you are given one strike team that you can send on missions. Missions range in difficulty from Bronze to Gold. Your Level 1 team should have a 70% or so chance to successfully complete Bronze missions in the Strike playlist. Once you reach level 8-10, you can try Silver strikes and see how you fair. The game will always give you a percentage for success. So choose accordingly. Eventually you'll be able to complete Gold level strikes with your team(s).

You will earn experience if you fail a mission, but obviously the greater gains will be when your team successfully completes the mission. Also, there are a finite amount of missions as well. Missions refresh at different times, so check the app often to see if a new strike has come available for you to play.

As an added bonus, you'll earn single player rewards for each successful strike completed. You can unlock these loot chests on the Tempest.

I can confirm. Play an Apex mission after you hit level 20. I unlocked the achievement by doing that after I got my 4th level 20 team.

I have gotten a second team to level 20 and it did not pop for me. The first one was VIA the app and this second team I got to 20 via the game. My next team is level 13 hopefully it will work.

I've missed this twice now. First one was in the app. The second one I finished in single player. I can't remember if I sent them from the app.

Couple of questions.

1.) Can I just use the Strike Team console on the Tempest and not the multiplayer menu, or is that clutching the achievement.

2.) Do I need to be logged in and playing the game as the mission is completed, or do I just need to send and debrief them from the game?

You can use the Tempest/Nexus strike team console yes.. it's all the same thing. I personally never used it.. only the MP and the App.
I'm not sure what to say to those having issues with the achievement not unlocking. I had no such issues.

Three level 20 teams. No achievement. First one leveled to 20 in the app, nothing. Second one finished the max mission on Tempest, but sent from app. Nothing. Recruited 5th team on Tempest. Nope. Third team did levels 18-20 exclusively in game. Ding 20, nothing. This is getting frustrating.

Edit: Completed an Apex mission in multiplayer (Which I've done previously), this time the achievement unlocked. If the achievement is stuck for you, give that a shot. It unlocked on the points distribution screen after you enter the lobby at game completion.

I leveled up my second strike team to 20 within the game (no phone app) and it didn't pop, but I got it to pop by playing the Apex mission from the menu and entering the Prestige/Challenges sub-menus. That seemed to do the trick...

I finally get the achievement. On my third team, leveled entirely in single player/multiplayer menus (avoiding the app). When i reach level 20 the achievent dont pop, but i did as "ProfessorX 86" says and i get the achievement (only entering the Prestige/Challenge sub-menus, dont play Apex mission).

My first team through the app did not unlock the achievement. The second, I leveled up through the app until level 19, then sent and debriefed through multiplayer strike teams. It still did not unlock. Directly after, all I did was go to prestige in multiplayer and it unlocked. Thanks for the tip.

I tried retiring one of my level 20 teams (I had 3) to see if that would cause it to pop and nothing. I just got my 4th team to level 20. Sent them in game and debriefed in game and still nothing...
This is becoming more annoying than the Halo Wars 2 achievements that I've had to do for the past 9 weeks and still don't have unlocked because they're broken too...

For those that have done it both ways, getting a team to level 20 in game and via the app.. play a MP match.. some players have stated that their achievement unlocked at random when playing a match, or even in the loadout screen. I wish I could offer more advice for those that are stuck.

After 3-4 lvl 20s I can finally confirm goin into the Prestige>challenge menu unlocked the cheevo for me😀. I lvl up my team via App until lvl 19 then sent out team from the MP strike team menu. Immediately after hittin Lvl20 I did Wat ProfessrX 86 suggested and went into the prestige menu after Pop there goes the achievement:) I can finally move on. completed

I just wanted to add to your second to last paragraph: I leveled up my first team to Level 20 within the app and it did NOT pop for me at all on xbox, despite accessing the strike team menu or debriefing my level 20 team - so hopefully when my second team is near level 20 I will solely access them from within the game and hope it pops

Have been diligently deploying my strike teams from the very beginning. Pretty much always finishing missions successfully. At this point I am done with every other achievement (took about 50 hours), but only at level 16 with my highest strike team.

This achievement really sucks without the app working.

I had my first team to level 20 on the app, the next day I made sure the second team got the level 20 ingame (singleplayer), no achievement. I went to the multiplayer lobby and played a quick match, completed it and it unlocked right after.

As simple as this achievement sounds, you must gain level 20 on a strike team while in Single Player. i.e, goes Ding when you return them from their mission.

I had a level 20 strike team well before this popped for me, however, my 19 team turning level 20, while in single player, gave me the achievement.

I mostly used the game's Multiplayer/Strike Teams/ Missions (saved the last hour of the trial before the app came out, haha) to send strike teams, and as such, my teams have no negatives, despite failing many times. More on that below.

Some notes:
They get XP if they fail, so even when you only have gold available to strike, strike gold! It's a percentile chance, so risk it! More about failure below.

Manage the time! Long mission? Send them over night. Not going anywhere for a while? Do that shorter mission, but remember to resend them!

You can only view traits when a team is not on a mission. Same for strike team equipment.

Multiplayer Equipment, rotated weekly in the store, costs Mission Funds, the same currency for More teams, and, better team equip. Until they patch negative traits, I'd suggest saving some Mission Funds for Equipment, due to rotation schedules, and focus on two teams... so you have a mistake 20 team, like I did haha. If you don't play MP? Keep recruiting, netting you the other team based achievement.

To hit level 20, stay on them, and try to maximize that time. 2 teams is good to focus on, as that should get you to the next strike reset, to start the process all over again.

My friend thinks that failing two missions in a row causes negative traits, but I feel like negative traits are only gained when they fail and you complete their mission in Single Player. Like I said, I have 2 20 teams, no negatives, and my level 6 team also has 0 negatives.

And now that it's on trueachievements, expect a patch haha.

I got a negative trait, remnant hysteria, off the app but I've only gotten 1 on 1 team and I have failed A LOT of missions.

I had two strike teams at 20 when this one popped out of nowhere.

I went to the Nexus, for a mission, and accessed the Strike console there. I debriefed a few teams and realized I had enough funds to acquire a new team. I purchased a new Strike team, my 5th, and the achievement popped.

Maybe this will help others find a solution for this glitchy achievement.

The first one I hit 20 with on the mobile app, so I thought that was the problem and waited until I was in the full game to level up my second team to 20, but that one didn't work, either. Hope it pops eventually on my way to the 6 strike team achievement.

You can't do this in the app and expect the achievement to pop when you log into the game. You should be launching and completing the strike while in the game's Strike Teams menu when your team is getting close to level 20.

I've leveled up three strike teams to 20 and still no achievement for me. The first team was in the app, the second two I only launched strikes from in game starting at level 18. Just recruited a new team and I'm only going to send them on strikes in game to see if that fixes it for me.

So I had two lvl 20 in app, and did one via the ship, and no achievement. Went to main menu > multiplayer > strike teams, had a few waiting for debrief, did that, then sent a few teams out, then flipped thru all the menus in strike team and it suddenly popped. Hopefully that works for others.

my last missing achievement... I'm angry as hell! 3 teams at level 20 and no achievement! 2 out of 3 teams were leveled in-game and no via app! already got all 6 team and nothing popped! what a shame.
EDIT: 20 minutes after writing this, I succeed at a gold extraction online and the achievement popped literally out of nowhere...

I tried running a gold level mission with my current level 20 team, to see if maybe just by completing a mission, it would tell the servers that my level 20 team is a level 20 team and give me the achievement. Nope.

I now am working to get my Level 17 team leveled up, in game and see if it will pop for that one.

Launched the mission via the Apex HQ app on my phone, but checked the mission after completion on the Tempest. Achievement popped a day later after my next multiplayer match.

I had 2 strike teams reach level 20 via the app, and with my 3rd strike team, I made sure to only use the in-game single player console from level 19 onward. Alas, after a gold mission that promoted the team to level 20, the achievement did not unlock, so I went to TA for answers. Regarding Traits, my theory is you gain them based on how well you did on the mission. Since at level 1 you start with 70% success rate for a Bronze strike, it is probably impossible to gain a negative trait.
